Oh how the might have fallen! Lulz... should have had a premonition of this in 2004 and the years following that reelection that was probably the worst decision made by the american populace since the reelection of Reagan; the overwhelming high the republicans were riding would come with a considerable expectation of a better future. Nemesis, and then Hubris... well i hope they use this new found arrangement which Farhid Zakaria labeled the one and a half party system to considerable advantage... end the war in iraq, rebuild the economy, offer universal healthcare, and switch to renewable energy.

They visited the last strongholds of the GOP, rural to mid suburban regions of the deep south and the midwest. they were critical of obama on account of his spending (and yet were eerily silent when bush blew his load and the country's collective load on meaningless war). a middle aged woman used the words "you see blacks everywhere now! the government is favoring the blacks! i am going out of business because i am not black"... to which the reporter simply asked "did you receive a letter from the government stating that you were no longer permitted to be in business?" of course she did not, she was going out of business because of her incompetence or the poor regional economics, neither of which could have been blamed on the federal government. anyways, there is some resentment to the notion of a black president, though not as tremendous as what some had anticipated, if anything, an overwhelming majority of the country (and the world) are willing to sit at the discussion table because of obama's charisma.

This guy seriously needs a visit to Asylum :(( yeah i was talking to my university's student body's outgoing president the other day (i had managed his campaign during the 2008 term) and he is quite close to the local democratic representative: chris bell, and he echoed exactly what you had to say: the republican party is unable to reinvent itself and is left with little resort but that of imitation. it imitated the nomination of a black man to the top office by appointing an uncle tom: michael steele who is a bumbling idiot par none! and apart form that, the very individuals they entrusted with forwarding their agenda, talk show hosts such as limbaugh and the likes of hannity and the other jokers on fox... these very individuals are now holding the party hostage. anyone who is a moderate is chastised, ridiculed and ostracized. it seems that the agenda is now determined not by those who follow the footsteps of goldwater and hamilton, but by talk show hosts with weight issues and drug abuse issues. not to mention, a lack of any credible higher education. but then again, the well educated, clear thinking individuals on the right are losing it: check out the "devil in the denim" by george f. will.

Regarding progress after his term ends, why do you pre-judge someone without giving them a chance? Remember most of the ridicules that Bush got was after he had screwed up big time.
