bunny Posted May 10, 2009 Share Posted May 10, 2009 As usual. Hayden scores and scores quickly again. Again captaincy can contribute but cannot over power the ability of players. Hayden had the better of RR today. It's all good to hear and read about captaincy moving rocks on the ground but literally it doesn't happen that way. Agree with it...The other thing is you really need to understand Hayden's weaknesses (in 20/20) and your bowling's strength to come up with a plan. Just making Pathan bowl the first over isnt going to work everytime. (Although it might have, had Warne kept a slip). So, I'd say the captaincy itself wasnt the best. One thing I realized about Hayden is i) He doesnt like to play off the backfoot against spinners. He'd rather keep sweeping and come down the track. ii) Hayden plays the same shots over and over again (however risky they might be).
