ViruRulez Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I agree Naveen Patnaik has been absolutely awesome .. he has swept the assembly polls alone without the support of any party .. he has also swept all Lok Sabha seats in the state .. people respect great leaders and vote accordingly .. Sheila Dixit has also been sweeping Delhi for so long while Nitish Kumar has almost swept Bihar .. this shows the maturity of the Indian voters who give more importance to developement than anything else.. this is a very good sign for Indian democracy and hope people continue voting political parties on the basis of developement instead of caste etc.
Lurker Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Naveen Patnaik has been super, specially because he dropped BJP like a pariah like before the election and showed them their true value. The big surprise would be West Bengal. If TNC scores wins on even 1/3rd of the seats it would be start of something good in a state heavily dominated by Communist parties for decades. Although I am not sure if I should be happy with TNC's performance considering the Nano fiasco.

Mayawati losing and BJP losing seats in Rajasthan ...and ofcourse WB , Bihar and Orissa but sill congress gaining ground in UP was surprising for the south , Chiranjeevi did pretty well considering that he joined politics months ago

Good to see that finally. This is the best thing I see in this elections.. India's economic growth and developement is being reflected in the election results nowadays ... Indian people a few decades ago were not much educated and they went for caste, creed, religion etc. ... but Indians have become educated and they are now voting for people who have done developement in their states... I am from Delhi and I can surely say that Sheila Dixit is respected a lot in Delhi for her developemental work in these 15 years ... she has been voted to power again and again and Congress is also benefitting due to here good work ... similarly Naveen Patnaik had done good work and even when he ran alone in the elections he simply swept all the seats throughout the state .. Nitish Kumar has also swept Bihar due to his good work and similarly Modi has helped in BJP's gain in Gujarat This is the best sign for Indian democracy and I had always desired to see this from the Indian voters .. every vote should now be based on developement instead of anything else and hopefully developement will remain the main factor from all future elections from now onwards ... lndia will get educated with time and so this trend of voting for developement instead of caste, religion etc. would hopefully increase in the future

If it keeps him away from writing cliched books like the great indian novel, I am all for it. Although he is a welcome change, an articulate, smart politician.
