The official who identified herself as a government worker but refused to give her name said on Friday that the decision to close mosques had been made for public safety and that "people should stay at home today and pray." Separately, officials in Kashgar in southwestern Xinjiang have told visiting journalists that they and other foreigners had to leave the city. So where are the protests, riots. What if this was to happen in west. I am sure this is more serious than the cartoons....:finger:

I am sure this is more serious than the cartoons....:finger:[/quote'] As per the Quran , any opposition to performing any of the 5 Salahs along with prevention of observing the 5 pillars of Islam is reason enough to start a jihad against the one that perpetuates this. So in essence a Jihad is justified to oppose the Chinese actions and all Muslim nations should join and support it. This is why so many Chechens and Uighurs were fighting in Afghanistan but alas dont expect anyone to come to the rescue of the Uighurs or Chechens now that China offers the Muslim world a bulwark against America not to mention Russia even getting observer status at the OIC (Org of Islamic Countries).
The Outsider Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The Muslims in Uighur have been genuinely oppressed and their culture systematically crushed by the Chinese much like the Buddhists in Tibet. One cannot support one movement and oppose the other - both are manifestations of China's imperialistic and dogmatic designs on the region. Forget about all that is happening in this period of unrest, even the Quran has to be approved by the state there. There are curbs on civil liberties like a limit on the maximum number of people who can gather for prayer. But nothing will come out of it. There will be a bit of hue and cry in the western media about China's regime and their censorship and violation of human rights. No country worth it's salt will do or say anything substantial. In that sense, India's stance has been pretty admirable both on Uighur and obviously Tibet throughout history.

They should but cant live in peace and harmony alongside other communities, especially when they are in the minority. They then start jihad action and sepratist movemnets, then quite rightly states clamp down on this, then they cry and complain about how badly they have been treated.

They need our sympathy not our scorn.

What would you say about muslim sepratist movements against the buddhists in Thailand, Christinas in Chechnya, Jews in Israel, Hindus/Sikhs in Kashmir, Christinans in Nigeria, The whole of the west as well and many more. So basically they are in conflict with every religion and race in the world but apparently its everyone elses fault

Why dont they choose to live peacefully but as usual turn to jihad. All religions have been discriminated against by communist china but they are the ones who turn to mass violence and terrorism
