Discussion- Ashes Test One

Recommended Posts

1) Hauritz needs to develop a doosra, or even something that goes straight on. Either he has it and doesn't use it, or he didn't have the confidence to bowl it to Panesar and Anderson. Every single ball was pitching middle and turning away, with the only variety being change of pace. Things would have been a lot more difficult if he pitched it off and middle and turned it back in for the LBW, or even a quicker ball that just went straight on. 2) Why wasn't Michael Clarke bowled, especially since he has the habit of producing some amazing spells when his team needs it most?

I think its about time England got some luck. They were desperately unlucky to lose the test series' in India, where India unexpectedly mounted a record breaking chase to win test 1 and then drew the 2nd test (just) to take the series 1-0. And in West Indies too, one spell from Jerome Taylor cost them the first test, only to be denied not once, but TWICE by a stubborn Windies tail, on their way to a 0-1 defeat again. England isnt as bad a test team it looks sometimes. They can easily turn this around and I sincerely hope they do.
