Stuart Broad and Matthew Hoggard

Recommended Posts

One of the reasons for England not doing well in the Ashes series apart from the Lords test is their weak fast bowling attack...And one of the weak links of that bowling attack is Stuart Broad...This lad is better suited for one-day cricket than tests...Can be a handy all-rounder..but in test match cricket you need fast bowlers who can destroy the opposition...Stuart Broad is not one of them..what's the point in selecting him on the basis of average batting skills when you have 6-7 genuine batsmen in the side.He hardly picks any wicket.More to the point he is one of the most expensive bowlers in the series. So how can his selection be justified? I was also surprised when Mathew Hoggard was left out of Ashes squad. He was one of England' s most consistent bowlers in recent times.Furthermore he did well in Ashes 2005.So how can you leave him out?...Baffling,isn't it??
