Bumper
By ensuring Aussies dont finish 2nd they are guaranteed to not meet them in the SF. Think about it. Why should they rest Vaas & Murali in a key encounter ? Link to comment
King
Re: Did SL deliberately lose to Aus ? I was about to post this, it looks like they planned it. They may not have deliberately lost it but they increase the chance of losing by resting Vaas, Murali and Malinga. Malinga was supposed to be fit too and I read in one of the report they are going to rest him just in case. Not a good one this really. A terrible move and even Symonds had a go at them at the end by saying why would they rest players and break their winning spree. Even Ponting mentioned it was a bad move by Sri Lanka. yoda
Re: Did SL deliberately lose to Aus ? Excellent move to rest Vaas and Murali. They did that against us and then came to the WC and kicked our a$$. Donno about losing the game part, but if it helps ensure they don't meet AUS in semis, great move as well. Link to comment
kabira
Re: Did SL deliberately lose to Aus ? well if NZ beat Aussies...Kiwis top the group....so in that case SL play Aussies.. Are SL safely into semis?? What if they lose to Ireland?? Link to comment
