Shane Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Man this guy plays when we need him the most and all this in just the beginning of his career. Superb and promising career lies ahead. Its time he was bumped up the order. Whats with the obsession with the glide, almost missed every time he played that. Should play more in front of the Wicket.
champ Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 watch debut innings of Yuvraj against aus at age of 18 years in CT 2000 when he came on to the international scene.. such positive play.. that is impression one needs to make to achieve greatness.. Umar got beaten playing the cut shot many times.. he needs to prove himself still ..

Are you talking about the NZ match, because he was out trying to paddle sweep the ball, anyways he seems like a great prospect, let's just see him play further
Bumper Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I saw Umar in highlights. Not sure what to make of him. He looked good against the spinners. But against Butler & Bond who bowled a tight line (with no room), I just saw Umar swinging wildly. His stats are impressive so far, but his true test will come when his form wanes. How he bounces back from a form slump will show us how much class he has. But certainly looks like a good prospect for Pakistan.
ludhianvi Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 This is a mere observation - perhaps an over-examination. When the runs dry out, he tries to get out of it by attacking the bowlers for a boundary. So a good strategy against him would be to block out the singles against him and he'll surely try something wild.
