Talking about these things doesnt get one anywhere. I'll just say this : Everything is subjective IMO - people have different perspectives of life depending on their experiences and influences. Nothing is fundamentally sound is it? What may seem perfectly alright to one would be completly awkward for another. Evolution is fundamentally sound. If you believe in what Darwin has proved to this world, then i guess you would stop looking further. Anyway peace on this topic, you are a creationist and you are happy being like that, then no one can/should question you.

As the saying goes follow what suits you best!! hun i am not the sort that is unable to balance one from the other, yes i believe in god there is nothing wrong with that but for example an elder tells you to do (or not to do) a certain thing because "it offends the gods" then i want a logical reason for it to tell me that it "offends the gods" is not logical so i wont follow it! ok lets get back to nitty gritty of this topic about astrology, future prediction etc and i'll give an example of what i considered as utter stupidity: i friend of mine, trying for a baby for the last 13 yrs, she's at her wits end because its not happening, now the medics have already told her she needs to lose weight sort out her diet etc which she hasnt done she went to this so called astrologer who said yes i can see it happening u give me XYZ amount of money and i'll make it happen but then she had to keep going back! in the end i told her this guy is ripping u off stop spending time with him pretending to do all this jantar mantar and go home to hubby and get jiggy with it! THAT my dear is the best way to better ur chances right? ok i understand she wanted a ray of hope and all of that all she was left with now is a hole in her damn bank balance and this astro funk is laughing all the way to the bloody bank!

I was like WTF but it still helped mum get a little reassured. Now Im willing to see a pandit since a close family member suffers from a painful condition which cant be cured, so lets see what Pandit says , no matter what he will say I know that he cant cure it but if he can provide hope to the paitent then why not.

They don't really know how life can bring someone to their knees and make them look for any help. If it helps the person find solace, I absolutely think that it is the right thing. There is our family "guruji" who comes up with all kinds of predictions. sometimes very unlikely ones too, I always try to prove him wrong but he always gets them right. Once he predicted I will get a job on may 3rd and I got job confirmation on that very freakin day. I gave up arguing with my mom over it and am just waiting for that "ahaa" moment. Frankly when I am low I ask her what the guruji has to say.:P

All of us ask for peace more than anything else. coming from an experienced person like you, dont you think the above statement is a gross generalization..even if a person is in his mid twenties he might have come across certain experiences in life which would have shaken him a lot and led to believe what he believes right now. i do agree with your second part in the above post, but it is not necessary for a horrific incident to change a persons view point. Well if it does, then i would just say that whatever he/she believed in at the first place was not his original stance.
