India lost the war but the West backed India and China had to retreat FYI. What's backed? They made statements that they back India? Did they do something to stop China? That kind of backing is useless. But I think now things have changed. Both India and China have emerged as huge arable markets for the west. A war will hurt the west financially. China looks all developed and rosy but their poorer cities , towns and villages are no better than some of the poorest areas in India. China would lose as much as India if not more. Both China and India are huge markets for the West and a war between the two nations will hurt the west too financially. So, they will try their best to stop the war at the first place. India is not interested in war too. But China is trying to piss us off in recent times though we have not done anything to piss them off. Both are expected to become huge economic superpowers in the next few decades and if there is a war both would lose at least a decade in its economic growth. USA owes more than 1.8 trillion dollars to china and still more to fund the iraq war. China is the largest holders of the US securities. They would rather sit back and let the 2 big nations duke it out which could be the biggest threat to the USA's world power status. Half of the US production comes from China, hell almost like everything is made from China these days now. USA just started showing us respect due to India's surprisingly emergence as a world power to the world. Americans have been supporting our enemy (pakis) for a while now and dont forget that our No. 1 ally is Russia...Just another knack on US + India relationships. Americans say one thing but do another thing. Anyways, China vs India isn't likely to happen though. 2 of the most populated nations in the world going at it? Our air force is far far superior to theirs, check any defense website or article - they have higher numbers though - and we have as good a navy. Their army is twice our size - BUT - in a limited conflict a la 1962 - We will give them as bad a bloody nose as they have received - Our troops are battle hardened and the bordering terrain is more favorable to India's side of the LAC. Atleast look up the facts of the 1962 war before uttering rubbish. YET - their casualties were greater than half of ours. Yes - they are a giant military machine - but alot of their fear factor is exaggerated. The ratio is just 2:1 acorss the LAC this time - China will have its sorrY @$$ handed back to it's hands if it gets adventurous again. And for someone else ( Lurker..?) who talked about "occupation of territory - get your facts right again - China withdrew to pre -war position . If China attacks India, they'll be sorry and if India attacks China; they'll be sorry. I can assure you that this will turn into a world war if there are 2 big nations like China and India are attacking each other. Simple as that. These mofos are the biggest threat to our country and undisputedly our ENEMY NO.1. They are doing all they can to encourage separatist movements in the Indian north east through small failed states IN neighbourhood liek Burma, Bhutan ..etc. They are heavily funding and arming the Naxalities ( Maoists) that have taken over almost 40 % of the country - almost the entire north east. They are the single biggest reason why Pakistan has nuclear warheads and is able to balckmail India. India must operate with the muh mein ram bagal mein choori funda against chinkis - being part of as many regional blocks aimed against China as possible and give as much support as possible to Taiwan. Let us not make China that invincible monster that we are making because it certainly is not that. The China of today is not even 50 % of the power that the former USSR was at the peak of its powers.
