(nazi occupied europe -sabotage,hit and runs) or drama?(humanitarian issues?) the collection is pretty huge. i can give you nonenglish classics as well.

classics- hitchcock ones include "39 steps","secret agent","foreign correspondent" and "lady vanishes" all b & w. "man who knew too much" (james stewart, )"torn curtain"(paul newman) and "topaz" are in color. "mata hari" is a famous story involving a seductive female spy.there is a version with garbo and later with sylvia kristel. spy who came in from the cold(burton),russia house(sean connery), constant gardener (rachel weisz)- from john le carre, the premier spy novelist. "james bond" -ian fleming, "our man flint" series with james coburn, "shaft" series "telefon"- (charles bronson) "eye of the needle"-(donald sutherland) more recent movies- "patriot games", "clear and present danger"-tom clancy "bourne series" ,"the rhinemann exchange"-robert ludlum "the fourth protocol"- frederick forsyth "peacemaker"-(george clooney,nicole kidman) "mission impossible"- cruise "good sheperd"-(matt damon and jolie- part history ofthe cia) "spy game "-(brad pitt,redford) "enigma"-(mat sheen) "enigma"-british version about breaking the enigma code-(kate winslet) "the recruit"- alpacino and farrell "munich","syriana","body of lies" are well known recently ofcourse. there are a few famous true stories of female spies- "odette" and "carve her name with pride"(about violette szabo) are british classics about british agents. charlotte gray(cate blanchett) and french movie, les femme des ombres, starring french beauty sophie marceau(the world is not enough) are more recent ones.
