Stuart Broad and Heterosexuality...

For as long as I have been following English cricket, I don't think I have ever seen an English player who is this gay (Alistair Cook will have something to say and maybe rightfully so). In fact I dont think there's a test bowler who could give this man competition (I dont consider Bracken or Twatson to be test match bowlers). In between the tall, slender, blue eyed manfeast and the immense over-hyping from the English media, there's something strange about Broad's bowling. Whenever there's what's known traditionally as good conditions for fast bowling, he seems to come out as a bit of an embarrassment. When everyone else is posing a threat to the batsmen (take the first innings of this match), Broad was the relief bowler. You could see it in the batsmen's body language. It looks as if in bowler friendly conditions, he has the special ability in him to bowl harmless, gentle deliveries to feast on. On the other hand, all his 5-fers and good bowling performances have come on dry, turning wickets where everything coming out of his hand looks like a hand grenade. I don't know what it is but uneven bounce, reverse swing, cut or whatever it is, he seems to become a superhero on flatter wickets. A heterosexual, blond superhero. Maybe some of the hype surrounding him is justified after all.
