So illegal Rohingya are deported from Bangladesh back to Burma. Can we please do the same to the millions of Bangladeshis who have entered illegally and altered population demographics in Assam and cities across India? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8433747.stm

Burma has agreed to repatriate 9,000 Rohingya Muslims from Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi government has said. Foreign Secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes made the announcement in Dhaka after meeting his Burmese counterpart, who is on a two-day official visit. The bilateral is also expected to cover trade deals and maritime boundaries. Human rights groups say Rohingya Muslims have fled religious persecution in Burma and do not want to return to their home country. Unofficial refugee camp in south-east Bangladesh Many refugees lack adequate food and sanitation Many are said to have nowhere to live and suffer "dire conditions". Burma has assured Bangladesh it will begin the process of repatriation "as soon as possible", Mr Quayes said, after meeting Maung Myint, Burma's foreign minister. He said Bangladesh had handed over a list of 28,000 Rohingyas to Burma, which had accepted that 9,000 people on the list were its citizens.

You think this govt will ever deport illegal Bangladeshis? Why would they deport their own vote bank across the border? The Congress Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi has openly stated that "there are no illegal Bangladeshis in Assam". http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/politics/no-illegal-bangladeshis-in-assam-tarun-gogoi_100106791.html . A minister in the previous term of UPA, Ram Vilas Paswan wanted to give citizenship to illegal Bangladeshis http://cplash.com/post/Paswan-favours-Indian-citizenship-for-Illegal-Bangladeshi-immigrants413.html . I would advise you not to have too much expectation from the UPA govt.

I agree too that these bustard politicians will never deport these Bangladeshis in the near future. They use them for their vote banks and so they are not willing to deport them. But the worst part is that India-Bangladesh and India-Nepal borders are porous even today whereas India-Pakistan and India-China borders are well protected. The TV channels were showing that India-Bangladesh border is so porous that there is only a small stream or pool at places. The Bangladeshis are freely allowed to move inside India in those areas. The situation in West Bengal and Assam are the worst and there is not even a single fence in the border if I am not incorrect. I dont understand why they cannot make a strong and big fence even now. They should construct proper fencing like in the India-Pakistan and India-China borders. However, on a second thought it seems nearly impossible to deport the Bangladeshis because they are now needed in society for the lowly works. No offence to anyone but frankly speaking, Biharis and Bangladeshis are the people who do the lowly jobs like labourer, sweeper, latrine cleaner, house cleaner/maid, rickshaw pullers, thellawalas and all other lowly jobs. Go anywhere in India and you will find either Biharis or Bangladeshis doing these menial jobs. A normal Indian would starve to death instead of doing these low jobs and so if these Bangladeshis are all deported then there might be problem of laborers doing menial jobs. Many South Indians also do menial jobs but they go to the middle east instead of working in low jobs in other states of India. So, there might be a problem if all these millions of Bangladeshis are deported back as there might be some scarcity of workers for low menial jobs in India.

WTF are you saying .. Bangladeshis are illegally migrating to India since ages as they are suffering from die-hard poverty and you can see illegal Bangladeshis everywhere in India especially in the eastern and northeastern states .. Burmese are illegally migrating to Bangladesh which means they are leading even more pathetic life than the pathetic Bangladeshis .. so that is why I said that sometimes I feel sad for these poor countries .. what part do you not understand or by what logic did you make your pathetic comment .. anyways I am not surprised at your post because dont expect Bangladeshis to be any good at logic or anything :winky:

You speak as if everything is rosy in your country. More than 420 million people in your county live under $1 a day. That is 3 times the population of Bangladesh and 10 times the population of Myanmar. So before you feel "sorry" for other countries go and check out the reality in your own country. But of course you are probably one of those ignorant idiots who had daddy feeding him from the day you were born and think that it is the same for everyone.

You must be kidding me, India has a huge problem of unemployment and underemployment. There are many people in India who are starving and would do any sort of job, be it menial to the elite like us. There is absolutely no reason for a single illegal Bangladeshi to remain in India. As far as I know there the construction of a fence is going on, and most of it is supposed to be completed next year. Along with this we need to strengthen border patrolling and install sophisticated equipment to detect infiltration. Frankly this is a huge security issue as well. Ever since the Indo-Pak border became secure, the Indo-Bangla border has become the favorite route for terrorists to enter and exit India. Same goes for the Indo-Nepal border.

Couldn't agree more! Viru is being delusional here, its not as if we're some rich country,we are a poor country and we have so many unemployed poor people who are ready to do any kind of job! Bangladeshis are plucking away our jobs.

There is no safety net like welfare or unemployment benefits in India to take care of the poor masses. There are plenty of poor people in India willing to do any kind of menial job to earn a square meal a day. So we dont need foreigners doing this for us. Build a fence and block them out. We need to get our own house in order first. Having said that, legal migration is always welcome!

The average income of an Indian is much more than from the poor countries. That is why India is within the G20 countries. I agree that there are poor in India but at the same time India also has got many of of world's richest. So, I am saying about the average earning in India and not of the extremely poor only. Whereas Bangladesh, Burma etc. are extremely poor countries with almost their whole population only comprising of the poor. So, I was just saying about the extremely poor countries and that does make sense. Anyways, do you hear Indians illegally going to Bangladesh because of poverty or do you hear Bangladeshis fleeing their country day after day and illegally residing in India as they are starving to death in Bangladesh. I am quite sure you also know that the later is only true. I have been in Eastern and Northeastern states for long too and so I can say for sure that there are these illegal Bangladeshis. They do menial jobs and work as rickshaw pullers, latrine cleaners, sweepers, thellawalas, maid servants etc. in India and you can ask anybody here. So, there must be a reason why millions of Bangladeshis have fled Bangladesh and are still fleeing after starving to death in Bangladesh. They can at least have their food whereas they were starving to death in your country. So, that itself makes sense as to the condition of poverty in the two countries.

Seedhi I agree that there are a lot of poor in India but frankly speaking you tell a northie (minus a Bihari or a Jharkhandi) or an Eastie to do menial jobs but still they wont do. I have seen these myself. An Indian youth would remain unemployed and starve to death but wont do menial jobs. I have seen it since my childhood and so can be sure about it. There must be some reason why only Biharis and Bangladeshis do the menial jobs. It is only because even poor Indian people wont do these menial jobs at those cheap prices paid to Biharis and Bangladeshis. Regarding this deporting I also agree with it. As I said the border much be secured completely and if possible the millions of Bangladeshis presently illegally residing in India should also be deported back. It is a security issue for sure and it needs to be rectified soon.

Bangladeshis are plucking away our jobs.[/quote'] Bhai as I mentioned previously I have seen Indian youths remaining unemployed and starving to death instead of doing menial jobs. It is the Indian ego maybe but they wont do these low and dirty jobs at all. I have seen it since my childhood and only Biharis are the ones who dont have this ego and so they do the low jobs. I would like that the poor and unemployed also does these menial jobs but bhai they dont do and maybe wont do. A person can abuse a Bangladeshi or a Bihari who is doing menial job and especially a Bangladeshi does not utter a word because he is already an illegal entity but if you say that to an Indian he would shout back at you. And a normal person wont even care to listen to a person doing the low jobs. Whether you agree or not that is how society works. These Bangladeshis and Biharis are doing all these menial jobs because they can be treated like anything and can do these jobs without complaining whereas other Indians wont do so. As I mentioned previously, there are millions of South Indians who go to the Gulf countries to do menial work there but they are not ready to do menial work in India itself. They work as laborers in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain etc. but they feel inferior working in our own country. I have met even northies and punjabis who are ready to work in menial jobs abroad (both in Middle east and western countries) but wont do any low jobs here .. so it is about mentality which I was referring to ... if you live in India you must have also seen it .. To give you another example, even today you go anywhere and there are scarcity of maid servants almost everywhere .. your so called unemployed people also cannot be found for maid servants .. so it is not as if the poor people cannot work as maid servants but they are not willing to work as maid servants .. it is still the Indian ego .. bhai I have seen enough of this and was just saying from experience

We anyways have a high population density and do not need any more people coming to our country. We are anyways worried about the future with the way the population is increasing day by day and I personally would not want even legal migrations to India unless extremely necessary.

Dont think blocking legal immigration to control population is a good idea. There is absolutely no harm in letting in skilled people - be it doctors, engineers, architects, sportsmen, musicians, artists etc. At any rate, dont think legal immigration will be in a huge volume to affect population density.

Lets look at these figures- how many in millionaires are in India and how many are in BD? India has a huge population. Therefore, if you count in sheer numbers, we will top almost every list. What you need, if you must compare, are averages and percentages. How many percent in India are above or below the poverty line compared to BD or best is what is the per capita income. It's sad I have to explain such simple things. Did you really think that Indian economy is worse than that of BD because we have more poor people in numbers?

A couple of things, the human development index categories poverty in relation to a western lifestyle . This is incongruent with South Asian poverty , in other words in India you can a full square meal for 15 Rupees which is 30cents. A Macdonalds burger is more than that and not as filling. Now just because India has poor and lots of them doesnt change the fact that those poor are competing with other poor from Bangladesh, this is a needless competitiveness with people who shouldnt be here in the first place. So Indias 75% is trying to help its 25% poor of a total population of 1.3B , its a better proportion than Bangladesh's 55% helping its 45% poor of a total of 160M. Link:

I have seen poor people from many states doing menial jobs. There are a lot of poor in India who would take up these jobs, howsoever unpleasant they may be to us. I am afraid you are completely wrong about this point. After all when there were few illegal Bangladeshis, say 30 years ago, werent there any people in India who did menial jobs? The absolute number of poor people in India has only increased since then, so I find it impossible to believe that India would face any kind of labor shortage minus the Bangladeshis. I dont have much hope of deporting the ones already here but the least that needs to be done is to completely stop the inflow into India, and if it is not done it is surely going to lead to serious strife in parts of India in the future.
