There are a lot of poor in India who would take up these jobs, howsoever unpleasant they may be to us. I am afraid you are completely wrong about this point. After all when there were few illegal Bangladeshis, say 30 years ago, werent there any people in India who did menial jobs? The absolute number of poor people in India has only increased since then, so I find it impossible to believe that India would face any kind of labor shortage minus the Bangladeshis. I dont have much hope of deporting the ones already here but the least that needs to be done is to completely stop the inflow into India, and if it is not done it is surely going to lead to serious strife in parts of India in the future. I dont know but I just said from personal experiences. Me and my family run a few business offline too and I really find difficulty in finding people to do small jobs. I am saying about maid, cook, servants and other lower jobs. Believe me it is the case in most cities where the people doing menial jobs are very scarce and the only ones available are these Bangladeshis and Biharis. I was just saying from personal experience as I have lived in many cities across India. I have hardly ever been to small towns or villages and so dont know the situation there.

If VR's post offended you somehow, you should express your objection in civil language and explain your stance. But what you have posted is pure BS. we are taking pot shots at a nation of people who are particularly proud of their heritage. i can understand why he is upset. i think we can have an amicable discussion on this matter, but it has already been derailed. instead of all the vote bank stuff that people speak of, forgetting that none of these refugees are entitled to vote, maybe we can consider the economic cost of harboring the refugees, and possibly even stop for a moment to consider the humanitarian motivations for supporting the refugees and undocumented aliens. personally i find the term "illegal resident" rather deplorable. its a term rooted in bigotry, anger, and intolerance. would seedhi have been just as vociferous has the undocumented aliens been of a different religious persuasion? Furthermore, does anyone have any crime statistics from these folks? any suggestion that these individuals are causing any disruption? political unrest or even harming the local economy? ours is a nation that welcomes people, especially those in need. we sheltered the tibetians, and they have been the most peaceful community even compared to the usual run of the mill indian. and yet, there is this misplaced xenophobia. we speak of india and its sphere of influence, and yet cant embrace a neighbor in need?

Yes those Tibetans came to India LEGALLY, we allowed them in. Calling someone an 'Illegal resident' is not bigotry , that person shouldnt be there in the first place, didnt follow the rules, hence theyre illegal. The Bangladeshis are running guns in Assam, not to mention theyre sympathetic to forces wishing to harm India vis-a-vis Pakistani terrorist entities. India is a poor country, we have a tough time taking care of our poor and our unemployed, we dont need the addition of millions of illegals.
