Lets say that there is an image with text written in chinese or japanese or whatever... so i would like to get hold of all that data inside that image and translate it for my self. if the language were spanish or french, i can atleast type the alphabets in the yahoo babelfish or whatever, but i cannot use the same technique for images having kanji alphabets. i got hold of a tool called JOCR. but that doesnt work for me. niether does that microsoft image mapping. so any ideas?

You need an OCR app (optical character recognition) that can read Chinese or whatever language you want it to read out of an image. There are many OCR apps available, but they mostly read English. I am sure there must be a few for Chinese as well.
