Lost the match but kudos to bowlers for making a REAL match with a relatively small total to defend. As Sriram pointed out in the other thread, we need to bring in Duminy at the expense of Jaya which could only strengthen us in all the departments!
No thanks. Jaya needs to be 'tested' for couple of more games and if he fails then bring in Nayar at his expense and we can always promote that slogging Tare to open with SRT. Duminy is as ineffective as Jaya (out of form) if not more.

Keeping biases aside...Jaya has already been tested for 3 games...what worries me is that forget about form...he has not even got starts to show that there is something in him :((...His lack of starts was not exposed until y'day when the rest failed(but they all got starts). Agree with you on the Nayar part...Tare has proved to be quite a find!!

I think time has come to go t oJaya and say "Get me a match winning performance Jaya, and you will be in, otherwise JP is waiting for an entry and the Sri Lankan airways plane is waiting for you" On the other hand i also feel that Bravo is not giving his 100% may be because of injuries.Zak is looking in tremendous form and Bhajji is bopwling crap as ever. But cant blame him, these shot boundaries are not meant to amuse the spinners, but Bravo has to fire with the ball as well as with the bat

^^It was Bravo who got us some important wicket in the game before last plus both of the west-indian duo have hardly got a chance to prove something....i guess we should give them few more games..... What about a new strategy???i was wondering what if Bhajji is replaced by Kulkarni....in T20 i don't think it'll make a difference if we go into a game without a specialist spinner...this can be tried out...but sadly i don't see a scenario where Bhajji will be dropped from the team however crappy performance he may give which in turn will make him complacent about his spot in the playing XI and make him bowl more crappy-ly. Mumbai has a great bench strength which should be utilized to give completion to those in the XI for their spots...but that is not happening...just like in our Indian team :((

Jaya will be kept in the team. He is too good for a couple of bad games to be dropped. His bowling is also quite useful, and besides, duminy is in such poor form that I'd rather have Surya. With the team we have, I am quite confident we will make it to the semis. From thereon its impossible to predict anyways. It doesnt matter if you win 8 matches in the league or 14 matches in the league as long as you make it to the semis

^I agree witth u holly, ut the only thing that worries me ahead of the semis is that when will Jaya's day come, we have been waiting long for one special innings from Jaya, and we know how crucial he can be once he hits from, he is one of our trump cards ahead of the big games(semis and finals).

^I guess as long as we can cover up for his performance there shouldn't be much a problem. But its not the batting which is worrying me...its the bowling...till noe we only had Zak and Malinga..but Bravo has been a useful inclusion. I don't know how to classify Pollard....he bowls slower than a medium pacer but faster than a spinner...has no swing and does not give flight to the bowl.....what does he do???? Jaya is as usual quite useful with the ball...I am surprised that Goddy himself hasn't rolled over his arm..is he injured??? and bhajji..the less said on him the better...one of those players who'll perform in one outta 15 matches and attain the arrogance which then makes them lose their form.

The Mumbai Indians have kept Kieron Pollard under wraps. The West Indian import, the costliest player of the IPL, has turned out in three of the four matches, but his impact hasn’t gone beyond 38 runs and a measly average of 12.66. He also has a solitary six against his name, as against 11 smacked by Hayden. He is presently 44th in the list of run-makers. What could be the theory? Pollard didn’t bat in the first game against the Royals, came in at number six against the Daredevils with only 16 balls remaining, batted at number eight against Bangalore and took guard against the Knight Riders when the game was as good as won by Mumbai. This man was a thrilling presence in the Champions League last year. So, why is he almost invisible in this year’s IPL? That the Mumbai Indians desperately wanted to secure his services before the auction is obvious. That other teams fear him also goes without saying. Yet, little is being seen of him in these early stages of the tournament. Why? I feel the Mumbai Indians have been working on what works for the team rather than who’s what. They have worked out a combination which is delivering. So, why fix something which isn’t broken yet? Secondly, they don’t want the other teams to see too much of Pollard at this stage. There are still 10 league matches ahead for them, so Pollard would surely be required at some stage. They believe that teams with good domestic talent stand a better chance, so are intent on offering them opportunities to succeed. This harmony would reflect well on the team later on — an aspect, which the Royal Challengers Bangalore too have embraced whole-heartedly. These two teams presently are the leaders of the pack. How Pollard is reacting to this being-on-display-only identity is not known? But I don’t think he would be missing out on the logic of it all. A team ought to come ahead of an individual and who knows it better than Pollard’s skipper, Sachin Tendulkar. So, Pollard’s time will come. I suspect it could be in the business end of the competition.

This is quite a statement made by Rvi Shastri, i agree that Pollard and Morgan havent had the impact on thgis edition of IPL after all the hype they got, but its just because of the local talent delivering most of the time.Great news for MI and RCB.:two_thumbs_up:
