Its a very strange stat, but 5th Feb has seen two players from our country string a very important stand between them. The two players are Gauam Gambhir and M S Dhoni. It was on 5th Feb 2008,CB Series Game 2 : India v/s Sri Lanka at Brisbane. India were reeling at 79/4.When MS joined in Gambhir and took the score to 267/4.They stringed 184 run stand.That game was rained out but that partnership was magnificent to see in all aspects, boundaries came slowly but singles and two's were on everytime.Last ten overs fetched 102 runs.Gamhir scored a ton and was unbeaten on 102 while Dhoni was unbeaten on 88. Scorecard Again on 5th Feb 2009, India played Sri Lanka in their own backyard at Premadasa. India lost Sehwag early, when MS walked in and joined Gambhir and stringed a 188 runs stand once again.The Indian score reached 332, and India won that game.Dhoni got out on 94 while Gambhir made 150.India won that game comfortably Scorecard So in both the cases, gambhir got a hundred, Dhoni missed his ton on both the occasions. We played Lanka in both the occasions and they stringed 180+ runs stand once again.Isnt it an intresting stat :hmmmm:
