achilles Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 So peoplezzz, what would you do if you were an NZ skip, reading Huss' comment, this thread and then thinking of those times when their padosis weren't kind to them? What would you be dis-cussing with your lads? :eyedance: :cheer:
Mr. Wicket Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Discussing the fact that the last time NZ beat Australia in a test match was in 1993, and 6 out of the last 7 games have been lost. So the players had better focus on putting runs on the board and taking 20 wickets rather than worrying about sledging Clarke or anyone else.
achilles Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Yeah. But I think they must be having some feisty character in their team. Someone Flintoff like?
Mr. Wicket Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Yeah, it's one thing for Flintoff to get in the Aussies' face and sledge them, given that he's scored a match winning test hundred against them, produced some amazing spells and various other match-turning/winning performances and can follow some words with performance. New Zealand can sledge on whatever topic they want - but they're now 17 years and counting without a test win v. Aus. Almost as pathetic as it'd be if Bangladesh players were trying to sledge Indians in a test, or Pakistanis were mouthing off to Aussie players after being reamed time and time again for the last decade.

Being a bit harsh paaji. Now you want to strip test staus of NZ:((
Chorazin Reto Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Where is my post, interesting that my post was removed yet the suggesting Symonds would not have an issue with being called a monkey was left. Considering if you actually read my post and the idea behind it this would not be the conclusion you would reach. No team has a clean slate, all teams sledge or irritate the opposition in some manner, suggesting they should lay off Clarke as i said above is like an open book with a sledge about Bingle on every page. Lets not forget Sreesanth, that guy was so annoying he got ***** slapped by a team mate, interesting that nothing ever came of it for Bhajji, did he get a fine or suspension or anything? not to say Sreesanth didnt deserve it, but still unacceptable in a professional non contact sport.
achilles Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 I came across this post further underlining the hypocrisy from the men in yellow. From - Cricinfo Posted by Ananthu Santhanagopalan on (March 17 2010, 05:54 AM GMT) Aussies are the worst when it comes to personal sledging. I am quite surprised with Hussey's comment that 'New Zealand will not stoop so low to sledge him on this"... Remember the Ganguly - Nagma contreversy when Aussies sledged him on this. But now they expect different treatment. I think the whole monkey gate issue was a drama by the Aussies who have set the standards for sledging as they have done for brilliant cricket on the field. Can't agree more with this poster.
thevortex Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Of course, Harbhajan deserved far more stringent action than what he got for physically abusing a fellow player. And I dont get this talk about Sreesanth deserving it. Talk on the field should stay on it. Not off it. Harbhajan was the sole guilty party there and deserved a whole lot more punishment. It is ridiculous to suggest that Indians are Caucasoid derivatives. Period. And I am not even bringing in the Aryan/Dravidian debate.
achilles Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 ^ Don't respond to talk about races. The comparison is just as bad as the one printed in The Age and talking about it just gives further credence and will lead to more posts and comparisons on those lines, by him.
Sachinism Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Don't make me remind EMC to bring the banning stick Stay on-topic. If you want to discuss the origin of Indians or what-not start a new thread
Mr. Wicket Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Discussing the fact that the last time NZ beat Australia in a test match was in 1993' date=' and 6 out of the last 7 games have been lost. achilles Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Yeah. Great batting by Clarke. Hope NZ does well.
