Roshanrocks - about the equipment or lack thereof, that is a different perspective. For sure batsmen would have been lighter and as they say necessity is the mother of invention. They had no choice but to have quick reflexes. Otherwise they get hit by cricket balls hurtling at speed!
exactly..... reflexes... thats the word i was looking for... tiny example.... i am sure u must have heard of people perforing extra-ordinary feats under fear....? i mean if a dog runs after you.... ur adrenaline will pump faster and you would run faster... i am not kidding, i read this somewhere and have experienced somethng like this plenty of times, expecially when being chased by dogs, i remember cjumping over a wall i had difficult climbing when a dog was after me .... anyways what i am saying is... how if we apply this theory to batsmen, who's to say that the present batmsen wudnt have faster reflexes if they didnt have to play with the "spacesuit"

OK folks, lets cut the chat and get to work :). Lets start with No.1. 1) Take top 10 fast bowlers on the basis of average/strike rate (in Bradman's as well as Sachin's time) 2) Take top 5 spinners (or 3, if not possible) on the same basis Lay it out. And this will go to some extent to show the quality of opposition they played against. Bossbhai - needless to say we need your help in this. :)

Well, I am not surprised. This effort really requires a lot of work and a passion for numbers. I threw it out here only because numbers and I are not exactly bosom buddies :)
