China might grow into a cricketing super power in the future if they take it up seriously .. they are hard working and their communist govt. makes people take to sports very seriously for which they are athletic and very successful in sports .. and they also have the money.. but seriously speaking I wont like the rise of China in cricket because their chances of joining the Indian camp is quite less and they will try to challenge India's authority in cricket

THat would give rise to interesting politics. All the white boards will cosy upto indians and sing eulogies of us. Our Padosi friends and chinese would form an unholy and opportunistic alliance

If you look at history of china, the power was pretty centralized and was wielded by a single man or a party. They never had autonomous entities, free from central control. Chinese sporting achievements were a direct result of determination by their governmement to use them as a tool to project their cultural and national "Superiority". A win in Football would ensure the same, as that sport is HUGE with 100 odd countries in it and it being a favuorite for entire europe and latin america. So their leadership has put in a drive for excellence in football Cricket in contrast is played by few members of common wealth, and a win in that would be comparatively small. So chinese cricket would languish at the bottom, unless we globalize this game.
