Baadshah Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif >This one really cracked me up. Indian umpires of the past with the exception of Venkat, were also some of the worst around. Kumble's 10 wicket in an innings saw some of the most atrocious decisions you're likely to see. Ok dude, lets start here..mention which decisions were not right..and we will analyse them..post videos.. Watch the video on Youtube. At least 4 decisions are highly dubious to say the least, with 3 of them being the top order. Watch how the Indian umpires finger goes up like a shot each time.

Watch how the Indian umpires finger goes up like a shot each time. lets discuss this later... and lets stick to the topic.. Did PCB set them up ??
Baadshah Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif >No they didn't so you are saying all the reports were bogus and PCB set them up... My bad. I thought your question on 'Did they take drugs' was aimed at my hypothetical scenario of Kumble and Dhoni being banned. Also, there is no doubt obviously that they both had abnormally high Nandrolone levels but no one can prove if it was taken intentionally.
kabira Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif >Also, there is no doubt obviously that they both had abnormally high Nandrolone levels but no one can prove if it was taken intentionally. hmm...interesting... those two took it unintentionally...wonder why dint others make same mistake? From what you are saying, Asif and Shoaib were fools that they took whatever they were given..and also someone was trying to set them up...
Baadshah Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif Where have i said they were set up? Like i just posted in another thread, does having a high Nandrolone level automatically insinuate guilt? In that case what about the countless athletes who are let off from all over the sporting world?
gator Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif Both Aktor and Asif have opposite builds.... how come they both have elevated nanrolls levels while the rest of the world dont.... some coincidence, eh... 2 fast bowlers have high nanrole levels and no batsmen, keepers, spinners of any country dont have..... i thot u were a literate paki....
kabira Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif >Like i just posted in another thread, does having a high Nandrolone level automatically insinuate guilt? why not...Rules are placed.. Nandrolone is banned substance... Having high level Nandrolone is wrong?? Right??
Baadshah Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif Both Aktor and Asif have opposite builds.... how come they both have elevated nanrolls levels while the rest of the world dont.... some coincidence, eh... 2 fast bowlers have high nanrole levels and no batsmen, keepers, spinners of any country dont have..... i thot u were a literate pakistani.... :lmao: Wonderful irony. Shoaib and Asif were both injured and both were taking similar supplements and protein shakes so it's possible there may have been contamination. If you really want to enhance your performance by taking illegal substances why would you get another person involved? I.e. If Shoaib was knowingly taking Nandrolone why would he get Asif involved as surely this is the worst way to keep it a secret?
gator Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif protein shakes and contaminated by nandrolone.... hahaha, get a grip, dude... it is a steroid and not e.coli bacteria...

Dhondy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif Both Aktor and Asif have opposite builds.... how come they both have elevated nanrolls levels while the rest of the world dont.... some coincidence, eh... 2 fast bowlers have high nanrole levels and no batsmen, keepers, spinners of any country dont have..... i thot u were a literate pakistani.... :lmao: Wonderful irony. If you really want to enhance your performance by taking illegal substances why would you get another person involved? I.e. If Shoaib was knowingly taking Nandrolone why would he get Asif involved as surely this is the worst way to keep it a secret? The contamination argument was used by Greg Rusedski successfully to overturn an ATP ban in January 2004. Greg argued that nandrolone had been present in electrolyte replacement supplements given to him by his trainer, that had previously been supplied to trainers by the ATP itself. In fact, Rusedski was the 8th player in as many months to be exonerated by ATP. When the supplements were examined initially, they were thought to contain traces of nandrolone, which led to the acquittals of Rusedski and the others, although the trace amounts could not have led to the levels found in the players' blood. After the Rusedski fiasco, the ATP stopped giving out the electrolyte supplements. Amazingly, despite this, over the next few months, no less than 41 players tested positive for nandrolone in very low levels (much lower than those found in Shoaib and Asif). Over the next year or so, ATP spent over $200,000 to test the putative supplements for nandrolone formally. Not a trace was found. Shoaib and Asif were set free on the premise that their nutritional supplements may have contained traces of nandrolone. The problem can be resolved easily by examining those supplements for the banned substance, like ATP did. But it's quite obvious that this is not going to happen. The decision making process will now be taken out of PCB's hands after they have badly abused their powers, and will pass to the ICC. The ICC are a signatory to WADA's code of conduct and have to honour the dictates of WADA. WADA will now decide on their next course of action. IMO, they will confirm Shoaib and Asif's guilt by testing the B samples from Malaysia (remember, those were never tested because Shoaib and Asif accepted their guilt. It escapes my imagination how two players who have inadvertently ingested the substance will forfeit their right to make sure that a mistake was not made). If the B samples test positive, a 2 year ban will be slapped on both players by the ICC. They will appeal again of course, but this time it won't be a PCB committee hearing the appeals, so the outcome is likely to be different. It just astonishes me how some Pakistani fans can be so naive as to think that the matter is done and dusted.
Baadshah Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif protein shakes and contaminated by nandrolone.... hahaha' date=' get a grip, dude... it is a steroid and not e.coli bacteria...[/quote'] Companies which manufacture Protein shakes also manufacture a lot of other supplements. Have you never seen a chocolate bar with the message on it - 'This contains no nuts but is manufactured in an area which has nuts'? I'm not saying that this happened, i was just providing a possible way in which Nandrolone could accidentally be taken. Also the body naturally produces small amounts of Nandrolone and there is a lot of debate on this subject. I have said it before, i too would feel the same way if an Indian player was let off scot free for a similar offence but the committee that cleared them, has (in Brian Lara's words) 'integrity' and they must have valid reasons along with expert opinion. Peace to all of you. I think this topic has been exhausted.
Dhondy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif Also the body naturally produces small amounts of Nandrolone and there is a lot of debate on this subject Yes, the body produces tiny quantities of nandrolone, which is why the urinary limit for the metabolite of nandrolone, 19-norandrosterone, has been set at 2ng per ml, to determine culpability. Levels upto this limit are not penalized, as it is thought this could represent natural levels of the substance. I believe Shoaib and Asif's urinary levels of 19-norandrosterone were around 14 ng per ml.
gator Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif it is a coincidence dhonds.... 2 fast bowlers coming back from recovery have nandrolone levels 7 times more than max normal limit.... could be the damned magic spray.... shyte, how did i forget tht....
DesiChap Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif no magic spray it was the naan roll. DUH !!!
Dhondy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif The other problem the two have is that, unlike in tennis and athletics, not a single other cricketer has tested positive for the banned substance despite regular tests. It's very difficult to argue that you have been taking some unique, unheard of supplements which others cannot avail.
gator Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif so Baadshah.... lets go according to ur theory....u gave 2 theories, rather.... Theory 1: naturally, and by coincidence, the 2 fast bowlers from pakistan produce 7 timrs more nandrolone than any other human being.... so this means, they will maintain roundabouts tht level for the rest of their lives... .then how did aktor not get caught in the 03 WC.... Theory 2: The protein powder manufacturing company accidentally mixed steroids in their product.... This will be easy to verify too... We can look at the batch of the product, and we can do some testing... But do u know, if tht is true, they will be sued like crazy.... Do you think, they are stupid to manufacture steroids and protein powder in the same container?

Greg Rusedski had a Nandrolone level of 20ng per ml, yet he and others (As Dhondy pointed out in the other thread) were let off as the supplements they were taking were shown to be contaminated. I didn't join this thread to prove Shoaib or Asif's innocence. I responded to some generalising by Predator_05 and d_r about other matters. The pair have been 'cleared' so obviously there must be some reason as to why that is, whether anyone on here likes it or not. I have said it before, i too would probably be disappointed to see an Indian bowler get off without a punishment for a similar offence but i guess it's natural to back your own players.
