kabira Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Imagine Pommy fans...haath ko aaaya par muh na laga... yeah we were hammered by SA 4-0...but we dint look like winning anything.. Here England did all the right things....winning the toss, putting up big total...and fackers..drop Ponting...and the game.. They dominated for 3 and half days...and two bad hours...they are out ... Freddy who bowled his heart out even with a niggle...hats off to him....still to retain Ashes they just have to draw the series...they can win at Perth Melbourne...and hope for the draw at Sydney..
The_Black_Prince Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker I think it's the end of the road for Giles. Yuh don't drop the Ashes and comeback.
veer Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker I wouldnt feel that sorry for freddie.. he failed to make runs in both innings....
kabira Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker >he failed to make runs in both innings did you check first innings scorecard...look for Freddie's score there...did you even watch..he hammered McGrath..
Anakin Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker The real question is will he publish Being Freddie 2 after this series?
kabira Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker I am not big Freddie fan.. but yesterday he showed his class..even with niggling injury he bowled and bowled really well..only bowler looked like taking wickets and restricting Aussies.. The guy is fantastic cricketer...
veer Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker >he failed to make runs in both innings did you check first innings scorecard...look for Freddie's score there...did you even watch..he hammered McGrath.. 38 and 2.. .yes very nice.. btw he is a superb cricketer.. but in this match I would rather feel sorry for hoggard and collingwood..
Captain of Bhangra Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker The real question is will he publish Being Freddie 2 after this series? Yes, he'll probably dedicate a chapter to being decapitated by a rocket launcher at an Indian stadium during the Champions Trophy...
yoda Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker Ind and Eng suffering from same problem. Poor team selection coupled with defensive mindset.
Predator_05 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Re: What a heartbreaker Their problem is that they are still carrying journeymen and don't have their best XI out on the field. Justifying Ashley Giles' inclusion because he "allows us to bat 'til #8" is a pretty good indication that Fletcher has completely lost the plot. The guy can't bat for his life and can't bowl. Panesar could have done far better than 2 wickets in 52 overs - that is for sure. The sooner England realise this, the better.
