Gator. I think Bruce Willis would be a classic example of how movie background can raise the stature of the man. I can see what you mean by his macho style but come on do you seriously think he oozes half the machoism of say someone like Steve Mcqueen? At his best Bruce Willis was half balding guy next door with body that shall pale in significance when standing next to any action hero of his time. Neither was he a great actor by any far chance but somehow he was always loved by the audience. I know many an American girls who still swear by him. Perhaps I would never understand why.. xxx

That was one of his more serious roles, shorn of the laconic humour that makes him so special. And yet, he towered over the rest in that movie. Who gives a fukc that he is balding? Yul Brynner didn't have a hair on his head and set the screen on fire in "The Magnificent Seven". Willis is a special actor. Amazing eyes. They convey so much.

Richard Gere had all the makings of a superstar, but somehow didnt quite get there, cos he was more elite.... but the man's class was next to none...
