Re: Important - please vote here.

So now the Hindutva brigade is saying State=Country? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
When did I become part of Hindutva brigade. In fact , DR has often accused me of being Muslim Apologist.
Good for you! Time for hindu extremists to realise that you hear sound when you clap with both hands. No Smoke Without Fire

KR, the remark wasn't meant for you. Apologies. It was meant for the ones who started the "those 2 posters" BS even though one fourth of the pollsters here and an overwhelming majority in India according to the BBC poll disagree with them.

Re: Important - please vote here. For everyone knowledge, let me repost again, what CC - the embarrassed kid posted.....

Because it is not the number 1 thing for most people - atleast, people who put nationalism over anything else are almost insignificant in numbers compared to people who put language/culture/race/religion first.
The poll clearly proved,, he was wrong.... now, him along with the mad professor twisted, saying only people residing in india must vote and not people in general.... what was the kid's argument? it is like asking people in the porn industry to vote on something said in general... ok, here comes the best part.... wen we were all asleep, they both crawled out, did some chest thumping and started declaring victory, when there was 9 pages of embarrassement staring at them on their face.... This is partX of the epic series " Mad Professor and the Enbarrassed kid"... no, it is better than "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

No unlike you I dont get orgasms by targetting posters on a forum rather than their opinions. You started this poll with the sole intention of targetting a poster. If not then answer my question about the validity of this poll. Oh yeah and thanks for the gem from you and your Hindutva fanatic: State=Country. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I think I will have to add that in the humous hall of fame.

Re: Important - please vote here.

Proff how about answering the simple question of what ones country of residence has got to do with his views on how he/she ranks the importance of his country alongside religion.
How about a simpler question for you before we move on to such things: Do you understand English?

Again, do you understand English? It was supposed to be country vs. everything else IIRC.

Re: Important - please vote here.

Not when compared to the situation of your country ... Varun ... are you suggesting that Kannadigas would rate the Problems faced by India (say because of Pakistan) to be lesser than the issue of clubbing Kannada+Telugu+Tamil ?
If your country faces a threat (say in wartime), sure the country unites together as one and becomes stronger. In those cases, of course the country becomes more important. At times of peace however, you would find people not getting along with their neighbors let alone with ppl from all walks of life. It's not specific to India, it's human nature. If your religion is provoked, ppl of that religion unite and religion becomes more important.. if your language/culture is insulted, then you unite based on that.. etc etc. A person's priorities and loyalties are highly subjective and fickle and it's hard to generalize them. If you had put this poll out during the Kargil war, and you might have had 100% for country.
In my opinion this poll is a bit confusing ... it should have been just 2 choices country and religion ... that leaves nothing to the imagination of the voter especially the ones who have a fetish for nitpicking and pedantry
In most cases Country vs Religion will result in the Country winning overwhelmingly (for India's case). Language and culture is slightly different however (especially for rural people)

Re: Important - please vote here.

Gats try a different poll. and next time provide elaborate explanation in the OP as to what the poll is meant for and how to interpret. As you can see there are a lot of mentally challenged pseudo-secs here
it is a simple question..... i am really surprised, the mad prof does not understand it.... it was what comes first to you. 1. country 2. Culture/language/Religion. This was in response to a blanket statement made by CC, that MOST PEOPLE place culture/language/religion ahed of Country. The mad prof jumped in along with the embarrassed kid and tried to twist it in 2 ways.... 1. All people means Only Indians living in India. 2. culture/language/religion will include the state too... and then he asks everyone in the forum to take up some english lessons.... and shouts hoarse that everyone who places their country first ahead of religion are HINDU FANATICS... I wonder, what word he has for indian muslims or pakistani muslims who voted Country ahead of their religion/language/culture.... I kept dropping them a hint, that they are embarrassing themselves, but they refuse to pay heed....

Re: Important - please vote here.

Sweet Jesus ' date=' we do have two different camps with totally different ideology here. Good for me that I belong to neither. :hic: :hic:[/quote'] this was not a question of regionalism or fanaticism as has been twisted by some ranters here... it is just what is ur priority - country or culture/language/religion... to make it simpler, who would you support, if some other state in your country with whom you dont share a language or watever is being harmed by another country, with whom u share a language/culture/religion....

That's a bit one-side that question. A better question to judge loyalties would be: If your state, and another state are being harmed by another country, would you care for them equally ? [Edit: I didn't read your question correctly Gator... Yours is valid too :hmph: ]

tht does encompass the main side, which is the country's interest as a whole....

Gator, my comments were general in nature not pertaining to this thread in particular. As far my opinion goes, Country first always as I have maintained in this thread. And whether I stay in India or not , it is immaterial.

Re: Important - please vote here. Culture above all.... And culture is not my ethnicity/religion/region. Culture is what I got from my environment... parents, family, textbooks, others... Culture is where I got my principles... thats what comes above everything else. My decisions are based on(or atleast I think *should* be based on) what I think is right, and not what my parents or my fellow country men, or fellow memmbers of the religious faction/caste/state/city think. Its called objective thinking. :hic: Its kinda complex isn't it? I guess thats why I end up being undecisive most of the time! :hic: In reality I guess, whichever of the above mentioned factions manage to influence a person's psyche the most, wins. Fwiw, I don't think vandalising a match that the home team is about to lose, is a decent thing to do, and I wouldn't support that.
