Teams involving Senior kenya,Gujrat and Baroda Cricket Kenya is in talks with Indian domestic teams Gujarat and Baroda to tour the country for a triangular tournament against the national side. The board chairman Samir Inamdar said on Sunday that negotiations with the two teams for a tour in July were almost complete. Gujarat and Baroda participated in the Elite division of the Ranji Trophy in India, finishing the tournament with one win out of seven games, and two wins out of six respectively. BCA team leaves for three-week Kenya tour VADODARA: Sixteen cricketers from Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) led by Pinal Shah have left for Kenya to play cricket with the international players of Kenyan team. Cricketers from Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) will also join BCA during the three-week tour that will end on August 11. It is after 10 long years that junior players from BCA have embarked on such a tour abroad for playing cricket during off-season. Swapnil Singh will be vice-captain of the team which consists of BCA's under-22 players. Mukesh Narula has joined the team as coach, along with Rakesh Gohil who has been appointed as trainer. "We had received invitation from Kenyan Cricket Board and we accepted. The idea is to take advantage of the off-season and ensure that players get to play quality cricket. This tour will also give them adequate practice ahead of the Ranji season," said BCA secretary Snehal Parikh. Irfan Pathan, however, decided to opt out of the tour to focus on his fitness. Sources said that Irfan, who suffered injuries ahead of Ranji season last year, is cautious this time and is working on strengthening and training. Yusuf Pathan's presence, though, will help the young team in major way along with pacer Ajitesh Argal. The team will play one three-day game with international team of Kenya, four one-dayers two with GCA and two with Kenya and one one-dayer with Kenya probables team. "Our team will get good exposure in Kenya and it will boost their confidence. As such cricketers don't have much activity other than training and strengthening during monsoons," Parikh added.
