The series in 2001. I think thats the one series I havent watched single ball. I had just been to USA as a student. Streaming was not that popular. I think Willow launched 6 months after this series. See the scorecard and look at our batting. You will surely laugh. No laxman and No Sachin. Both injured. Similar total to chase against not so bad bowling it had Lankans two best bowlers ever. http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63944.html I am praying and hoping that we will tomorrow. Tomorrow is my birthday and I want to celebrate it big. If we win it will be big celebration and if we lose it will low key affair. :hatsoff::hatsoff:

^does it matter if its turning track or seaming track. The fact that no team scored 300. The fact that indians were down and out. The fact that no one thought we will pull off the chase. It was inspiring innings from Ganguly, ably supported by Dravid.

Another parallel is Murali smashing 60-odd from no.9 just like Ajantha's 70-odd today (though, obviously, Lanka added many more runs today for the last couple of wickets)... But really, despite our greater batting depth here, we have still gotten off to an appalling start, whereas the third wicket fell at 194 in that match.

^ Yeah, fair enough. I'm not too optimistic but who knows. I hope for your sake they do the business and make your birthday celebrations memorable. And if we somehow pull off the win, the rest of us will join in anyways :--D

Another recent game of interest - WI v Lanka at Port of Spain in 2008 http://www.cricinfo.com/wivsl/engine/current/match/319133.html In this game too, the top order of Lanka collapsed in the third innings before Samaraweera and Vaas had a 138-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Chasing 253 to win, WI slumped to 73-3 before Sarwan and Chanderpaul put on 157 to take them home. I don't know what the pitch was like though.
