I've downloaded and installed "Internet Explorer Platform Preview" and guess what I liked it!! :omg: I am big fan of firefox. I use FF at home and Chrome at office as my primary browsers. Never liked MS. Always Hated IE. But this time I am actually looking forward to IE 9...!!

ViruRulez Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Installed the IE9 public beta and had to leave it within a couple of days ago. My Windows 7 suddenly started showing the message "might be counterfeited copy blah blah" with a day or two. Then I tried to validate my Windows again and realized it cannot be done in IE9 and maybe that was why it was showing the error. Uninstalled it instantly and went with IE8 again instead. Not impressed much anyways. I will always remain a FF fan for sure.
DomainK Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 MS these days is always busy in a catching up act. Someone else sets the standards and MS tries to catch up to it. They usually do a good job of it, but by then, a large part of the market has already committed it's loyalty to the original trend setters, which usually Google or Apple. When Google first surfaced, MS and many others took them too lightly. There was a time when MS was the trend setter. They used to innovate to bring all the fantastic technologies into the reach of the common man. Windows was a major win and thats shows how strong customer loyalty can be in the long run in marketing. Even today MS leads the OS market undisputed even though several other user friendly operating systems were developed after windows. Similarly, once Google became the mass's favorite, there was no stopping Google. Later many equally good search engines came, but it was too late as the market had already selected it's favorite. MS was brilliant with live.com and later with bing.com and both were good enough to put up a fight with google but they came in too late and by then the show was already stolen. Some smaller search engines were excellent but could never even enter the competition. A good example is snap.com. MS will have to learn to innovate and set trends and stop catching up because in the cyber space, by the time you catch up, you become obsolete. May be surface computing will do the trick for MS.
