Desi Daroo Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hello all, my very first post here :two_thumbs_up: Just wandering if anyone heard anything about these rights ? Nimbus Sports awarded the rights to all home games played in India to BskyB for the UK TV market but this was a 4 year deal which, given it started in Feb 2006 has concluded now. With series agst Australia and NZ coming up in Oct-Dec 2010, I am trying to find out if Sky have extended their deal with Nimbus or whether someone else has won the rights ? Anyone know ?
Gunner_Mania Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Not yet as far as I am aware. I read somewhere that Nimbus are still in discussion with various UK broadcasters.
Serani Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Sky know Indian cricket is a big market for them, would be very suprised if they didnt renew the deal
nballa Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 given that you and your 5 roommates will probably end up waiting for a crappy quality free online stream from cricketbazooka.uk to buffer on your laptop while consuming a questionable beverage and cracking jokes on a satuday night. all this talk about tv rights is moot.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Cos it is India v Australia the number 1 and 2 team respectively, i reckon sky will show it, its only the india v sri lanka/pak games which they dont get rights to!
Sachinism Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Sky Sports have October schedule on their website, doesn't have Ind-Aus listed :nervous:
shah2kool Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 No news yet as to who will cover these match in UK? I hope it's not Zee TV, they show more ads than the match itself!
Desi Daroo Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 Only one week to go now before the 1st test and still no news, riduclous state of affairs. I am pretty sure it cant/wont be Zee as they are showing another series at the same time. Our only hopes are Sky or ESPN really as Sony UK seemed to have walked away from showing Indian cricket these days. To be honest, I would settle for almost anyone as long as its shown in the UK......well apart from ARY :finger:
shah2kool Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Anyone has any news on this yet? 5 Days left and we don't even know whether it'll be shown on any TV channel in UK at all?
Gunner_Mania Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Unfortunately Havent heard anything yet:((
Sachinism Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Illegal streams FTW But they're gonna be crap considering how many people will be using them
Gunner_Mania Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I read on anotehr foum that sky have not yet signed a deal, but have got their staff ready to work on the transmission, which suggests that a deal is imminent. Don't know whether it is true or not. I've got an offer to get the skyplayer online on a very good deal, but I am waiting for confirmation of this series before I go ahead with it. I wonder if sky are going for a series by series deal rather than a multi-year deal like last time, as Eng is not due to tour India for some time now.
shah2kool Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 It is confirmed then - http://media247.co.uk/bizasia/newsarchive/2010/09/sky_sports_to_s.php It will be on sky sports! Though checking their subscription fees i'll be going for cricklinx.com Happy cricket watching folks!!!

Sachinism Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Get a skyplayer sub with all 5 skysports channel - for 20 quid a month for 3 months. I have a voucher code if you need. what? all 5 channels on my sky box only £20 for 3 months?
Gunner_Mania Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 not on the skybox. but online via the skyplayer. In anycase the Bizasia article has now been updated to say, that sky may show and it is not yet confirmed. so it is still hanging in the balance. http://media247.co.uk/bizasia/newsarchive/2010/09/sky_sports_to_s.php
