Batsmen for analysis

Folks, I'll be starting the update of the Virtuoso Batsmen Analysis soon. I thought I'll ask for your suggestions on who to include in the list. Let me first give you a quick brief on how the original candidates were chosen. Step 1: Identify top batsmen from each country Step 2: For each country pick out their top batsmen by doing a pair-wise comparative analysis (Analytical Hierarchy Process decision methodology) Step 3: Once a short list made, look through the names and subjectively figure out if a batsman who was excluded (because his country already had 3-4 batsmen selected) is greater than a batsman who made it from some other team. Step 4: In case there are such batsmen, then include them in the short list. So here's how I chose the batsmen For Aus - Bradman, Border, Chappell, Harvey, Ponting, Waugh Eng - Ken Barrington Geoffrey Boycott Colin Cowdrey Graham Gooch Wally Hammond Jack Hobbs Len Hutton Peter May Herbert Sutcliffe Ind - Muhammed Azharuddin Rahul Dravid Sunil Gavaskar VVS Laxman Virendra Sehwag Sachin Tendulkar Gundappa Viswanath WI - Gordon Greenidge George Headley Brian Lara Vivian Richards Gary Sobers Clyde Walcott Everton Weekes Pak - Hanif Muhammed Zaheer Abbas Javed Miandad Inzamam ul Haque Muhammed Yousuf SA - Kallis Once I made the short list of 16 i.e. Bradman, Chappell, Ponting, Barrington, Hammond, Hobbs, Hutton, Dravid, Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Lara, Richards, sobers, Inzi, Miandad, Kallis I asked myself if there is anyone I missed from the list who would be better than at least half of these 16...my intuition said I didn't miss any. I also looked at Sanga and Mahela's figures and basically they don't give me the feeling that they will be among the all time top 10, so I left them out. Pollock, Headley haven't played enough Tests so no point including them in the analysis...they will be shown to be too poor, which is not a right reflection on them. Anyway, for the update project I am thinking about adding Viru and Sanga. However, the lazy side of me tells me I shouldn't because unlike Kallis, Dravid, Sachin, and Pawning these guys still have 4-5 yrs to go so I can leave them out for now. It's lot of manual data crunching in Excel so the lazy side of me is fighting a lot. Your suggestions please...

LOL! Thanks! But just can't help it...once I take it up and that too after promising many others that the update will come, I have to finish it. And if I have to do it then I might as well do it thoroughly...don't ya thunk?
