Predator_05 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Today and Tomorrow will determine the 4 semi-finalists. This is where you can hype up certain teams and knock down others. I love the CL
Dhondy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Liverpool (yaar CoB, don't call them scum-wum, doesn't sit well with Champions League thoroughbreds), Man-U look like certs, Valencia look set to join them...Bayern have a huge advantage over Milan with the two away goals. No side from the World Champs?
Don Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Wow Carickk justifyin his 15Million fee
Sooda Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four I know Dhondy...am still hoping Milan can beat Bayern. not impossible. Milan are too old, especially that defence...if they play Utd in the semis C. Ronaldo will absolutely skewer them...they need a good creative midfielder to help out Kaka and a striker...they always create chances but no one to put em away...Gilardinos been crap...Ronaldo being cup tied dosent help....they miss Sheva...

apocalypse Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four damn just saved by valencia' gk
Predator_05 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Essien just scored the winner at the Mestalla, so now there will be THREE English sides in the Final Four (Liverpool are 3-0 up on aggregate, so they are as good as through). Spaniards did it in '00, Italians in '03, and the English have now done it in '07, join the club
apocalypse Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four yes Essien scored We Win
Sooda Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four frigging chelsea man. hope they bt liverpool at least
Holysmoke Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four chelski thru :wall:
Predator_05 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Just saw the highlights for the VAL-CHE match; Essien scored a cracker in the 89th to win it. Incredible finish - not unfamiliar to Chelsea supporters this season, as they remember the nailbiting matches vs Everton and Arsenal in the Premiership this season. Some unbelievable goalkeeping from Canizares too; he is an old fart but still sharp.
Dhondy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four English football rules! Three teams in the semi-finals! Ever happened before? (Saw Pred's post. Thrice, in fact!)
Predator_05 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four English football rules! Three teams in the semi-finals! Ever happened before? It posted the other two instances in this very thread, but once more; '00 - Real Madrid, Valencia and FC Barcelona (Bayern Munchen were the 4th) '03 - Milan, Inter, and Juventus (Real Madrid were the 4th) '07 - Manutd, Chelsea and Liverpool I'd fancy Chelsea to win it this season. They have come so close; making the semi finals in '04, '05 only to lose by a whisker to Monaco and Liverpool in both away matches in the 2nd leg. Mourinho will have it his way this time. Although on evidence of Manutd's performance today, the odds will be on them
Captain of Bhangra Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Wow, what a performance from Utd. What more can anyone say about Ronaldo?, pure quality. I don't think we'll make the final though... Was glad Chelsea got through, because I'd expect them to have more chance of beating Liverpool scum than Valencia. They'll be out for revenge after being robbed 2 years ago...
Captain of Bhangra Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four Liverpool (yaar CoB' date=' don't call them scum-wum[/quote'] Just saw this Dhondy, sorry mate, but you're asking me to break the habit of almost a lifetime, this team stirs up almost exactly the same emotions in me as the Pakistan cricket team. I know how I'd feel if Pakistan had won the world cup this year. I know, because I went through that feeling in May 2005, only that was even worse, because it was unexpected, whereas in a World cup, you'd always be wary of Pakistan...
Dhondy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Re: Champions League Final Four I was thinking of Observer! :hic: He lives in Scouseland, and takes these things very personally. Can't deny their pedigree though!

Milan have an aging defence who would struggle to contain Cristiano Ronaldo in his current vein of form - quite literally a one man team (the one man being Kaka). As for Bayern Munchen - well, they are just an average side who didn't even deserve to reach this stage of the competition. Real Madrid p*ssed all over them in the last two legs, and their progression was a fluke more than anything else. Manutd have nothing to worry about - they will be playing in the final this season. Chelsea vs Liverpool - now THAT is a contest which one cannot predict. Liverpool undoubtedly hold the edge as they have defeated Chelsea in knockout matches on several occasions ('05 CL Semi, '06 FA Cup Semi, etc.).
