ViruRulez Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 5-year is too small but if it was a 10 or 15 year student I would not mind the teachers at least scolding or even a bit severe punishment for negligence towards studies. Nowadays I see a trend where many a times our media has started to project teachers at villains who are after the lives of students. And they tend to neglect the mistake of the students. We have always had a guru-disciple relation throughout our history and that is what makes education so important in India. A teacher has every right to take disciplinary action against students who are going in the wrong path. But that is surely not applicable for a 5 year case and so this is not in regards to this case. He should be scolded for sure if he is not doing homework but not thrashed. At most he can be hit once in the hand with a tiny stick. I would not go in making villain out of every teacher as is the case nowadays with our media. Human rights is important but not at the cost of education and development of the nation.
