An entire player auction, just for 8 teams is useless. What will happen to players of KXIP and RR? Will they be put into pool as well? What will happen when these two franchises are un-banned? player auction again?. And If BCCI goes firm on the ban, these two franchises have a case to get a stay on IPL from court. Ultimately, BCCI will un-ban these two franchises and IPL4 will have 10 teams as planned earlier.

Umm it was Modi's idea of reshuffling the rosters. Initially, IPL contracts were handed out on 3 year term and it's no brainer that Modi/BCCI/IPL wanted to go with all in auction. It's one of the dumbest moves you'll ever see in a league that is supposedly worth billions of dollars. It's also surprising that people who injected so much money into buying the franchises did not protest against this idea when they had their bid to own a franchise; its almost like they just wanted to take a dip into the swimming pool without knowing the depth of the pool.

IIRC, the series starts on April 15th and ends in last wekk of May 2011. That will rule the Pak players out of IPL. In any case, our government wont give the permission to have pak players in IPL especially how some idiots last time abused hindus for their IPL snub.
