Are substitute fielders allowed for BMac and Ryder?

They are carrying prior injuries (sustained before match start time), so they are not allowed runners. When they bowl, as per rule, can NZ be denied sub fielders. If rules say no sub fielders, they should not be allowed by umpires/MSD. What is the correct rule?

They will be allowed sub fielders and then in the next they cannot bat before number 7. Wont be allowed runners I guess.
So even if injury is carried into the match from before the match started, they are allowed substitutes, is it? Interesting.

We have ourselves benefited due to runners (although due to fatigue/injury suffered in a match) and hence should not get into too many technicalities.

We've only gotten runners when injury/fatigue in the match like you said. When VVS was injured after Test-1 India had to drop him for Test-2 against Aus (though Pujara did well, that was after the fact). So, umpires or opposing captains (Ricky Pwnting said No) wont allow for us, and we (rather umpires) wont allow for NZ either. Rules will be applied if India were in trouble, and same rules need to hold for NZ too.

Actually on umpires' date=' I think :yayo:[/quote'] :finger: have you read cricket rule. according to rule opposition captain have to decide about substitute not umpires.:--D

don't see why MSD would make a fuss about it... NZ players have been fairly cordial with ours..no sledging, playing hard..etc. We will win this fair and square w/o any controversies..

Nah, batsmen cannot claim runners for the injuries they has BEFORE the match. So not even umpires, MSD or even Vettori has a say on it. Unless the two sides agree on a common policy before the match, the usual ICC rules will apply.
