Sid Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Just read on news channel,he will be the captain for the NZ series, Sehwag and Dhoni would be given rest for this series along with Raina
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 hmm thats alrite I guess..gambhir has been in decent form in odis I think?
hari504504 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 sounds just about right...till Kohli gets a few more matches under his belt..
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 sounds just about right...till Kohli gets a few more matches under his belt.. why kohli to be a future captain? He gotta score hundreds and cement his place first.
Sid Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 hmm thats alrite I guess..gambhir has been in decent form in odis I think? hasnt played in ODI'S since ASIA CUP
achilles Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Decent decision. He's pretty much the only senior player in the team in the subsequent squad who has also cemented his place. Virat is awesome, but he'll have to wait for atleast 2 years to flirt with captaincy.
hari504504 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 why kohli to be a future captain? He gotta score hundreds and cement his place first. yup..a few more matches and runs .. he is a proven winning captain (U-19).
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 yup..a few more matches and runs .. he is a proven winning captain (U-19). hmm even kaif was a u19 winning captain.....lets wait n see I wanna see wc performance to evaluate/revaluate our odi players
Sid Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 what about sachin? obviously ,will be given the rest
saneindian Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 And the same channel had yesterday said that Gambhir, Yuvraj and Raina have said no to leading the side given their bad form and that Dhoni has been asked to play the first 2 ODIs (Sehwag, Sachin, Bhajji to be rested for all 5 ODIs) after which Kohli will take over!!
b555 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 obviously ' date='will be given the rest[/quote'] ok when will i again see him in blue jersey? :(( such a long wait :((
hari504504 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I wanna see wc performance to evaluate/revaluate our odi players WC will be mostly on our highways.. won't evaluate any batsman or bowler based on the performances there alone... will look more towards how they perform abroad.. batsmen and bowlers..
Sachinism Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 And the same channel had yesterday said that Gambhir has said no to leading the side given his bad form and that Dhoni has agreed to play the first 2 ODIs after which Kohli will take over!! WTF Dhoni *facepalm* Virat being groomed for captaincy :aha:
saneindian Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 WTF Dhoni *facepalm* Virat being groomed for captaincy :aha: I edited my earlier post after your post!!

Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 WC will be mostly on our highways.. won't evaluate any batsman or bowler based on the performances there alone... will look more towards how they perform abroad.. batsmen and bowlers.. wc will be a good test of temperament and we will know who big match players are.....it will seperate men from boys.
Shakthi Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I would keep Nehra in the team Vinay Kumar is a crap bowler
CSK Fan Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 obviously ' date='will be given the rest[/quote'] But then when will he get some ODI practise on sub continent wickets before the World cup? The next ODI series will be on South African soil
