After this series, I only have respect for these guys... With such a small population and even fewer cricketing resources, these guys played their heart out in last 3 tests... They came back from possibly their worst tour ever from Bangladesh and everyone was bashing their team upside down... Still played with their great determination and managed 1-0 against rank 1 Indian team team in India's own den.. They even got us on a backfoot position with Martins amazing spell in Ahmedabad Mind you, these guys didnt give any negative controvesial statements considring they got various wrong decisions from umpires( they wanted UDRS and India didnt) or complained about patta/flat pitches.. Well played Kiws... We wanna see more Shane Bonds:two_thumbs_up:

Well played Kiwis. The 1st Test could've gone their way, the 2nd was okay and the third was India's game. All credit to them for making us work hard to win the series.

Especially guys like Kane Willamson...strong future ahead.. Vettori is a class-act as a captain.. the Bangbro debacle was just a one-off I think.. NZ has some out-and-out pacers progressing through their domestic set-up (read something about that during the cricinfo commentary thread), with some extra muscle in the bowling department..this team can win a few..and more..

NZers are the most well behaved team and have always out-performed in terms of resources. I just wish that they whitewash the pakis (who btw lost to the afghans today in asian games semis) at home.

Good thread, it's nice to see our team getting some appreciation after Bangladesh :) Last test was disappointing obviously, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well we fought overall this series. Our one-day bowling is our main strength with Vettori and Mills, and even with Ryder out there are a few batsmen in form, so the ODI series should be entertaining. I'm not sure another Shane Bond will come along, but just a couple more Dion Nashs or Simon Doulls or Chris Cairns's (just his bowling is enough) would make us a pretty good team. I think pitches in NZ are starting to behave more like the rest of the world, so hopefully we are nearing the end of the endless dibbly-dobbly medium-pacers in this country.

Nash and Cairns were brilliant allrounders, Bond one of my all time favorite bowlers. Nash and Bond ideally should have had more prolonged careers. I wonder why Tuffey doesnt play more, he is a pretty good bowler. Regarding the pitches, they should retain the green look. That is the appealing feature of watching test matches in NZ, apart from the picturesque backgrounds.
