lolz.. at whoever is defending aussie attendence. i just checked the tickets availability for the adelaide test at ticketek website. http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/Show.aspx?sh=TESTADEL11 only saturday is full. I can get tickets for all others days including sunday and for all stands. and i'm sure we'll see several empty or near empty stands in this match as well. cant figure why some1 would go head over heels to get a match ticket in july (did i hear that right?? july) that too for a match that doesn't involve india... :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

I have been seeing many series in oz over last few years were attendances have been visibly poor. I mean did you really need stats for day 5 for example to know attendance was shocking. SL series was pathetic. Similar to day 5 here. Why did no one turn up on day 4. Game was even, chance of result possoble, non working day, yet stadium half full. Why?

THose that buy it online are those that want good seats and hospitality. The casual crowd usually just gets the tickets on the day and dont care where they sit. Its not like India once you get into the ground you can sit wherever and do whatever you want.:giggle:

not really. stands with chairs do have numbers. and there are some stands that do get sold out before the match. through web site partners and then the association itself sells tickets a few days before at the venue. only what is left is made available for the casual crowd that gets to the ground on the day in the hope of sneaking in with a ticket. coming to the original point we were discussing. 1) this ashes is definitely not a sell out like it is being hyped. the only place where test matches get sold out before day1 starts is probably england 2) sriram point out in an earlier post that we cannot expect australian public to fill the stadium as it is not even their prime sport (may be rubgy, footy and others). point taken. so aussie cricketers, commentators, and administrators should first worry about reviving interest in their own country than writing obituaries that indian pitches are ringing the death bell for test cricket 3) and its not only tests, aussies are showing their back to ODIs as well in recent past (i dont have numbers to show, before the fake aussie tries to challenge), but come the ODI series, we all can see empty seats in the ground, which is unthinkable for an ODI in india So, let the aussies get their house in order before coming out and commenting whats happening in india or slanka

cricinfo....go to the full scoreboard for any match and at the bottom of the page there is a coloum Day1, day2, day3 etc... in that the salient features of that day are given and there the attendance for the day is also given. I took the trouble of going through records of all tests played in Aus over the last 2 years only to prove that Idiot sree_india wrong.

But here we are discussing attendance in Aus and despite HARD FACTS, FIGURES and Numbers being provided, Aussie fanboys are not ready to accept the fact that attendance has been declining and when they are left with no point whatsoever, people like Sree_India resort to using abusive language.

India attendances should be better but I feel a lot is due to venues being chosen. Attendances around world are falling, thats sad , not just India but in aus there are empty stadiums as well. Only england seems to pack them out. Sree just cant face the facts. It seems to be for many that holy cows of aus/england or ashes simply cant be critiicsed. But when its India all kinds of lazy sterotpes can be banded about!

No days even came close to sell outs, the figures show this. It was the most hyped match to ever hit aus , yet vast amount of empty seats. Day 4 which was a non working day with game on a kife edge was only half full. God knows what attendances would have been if you take out masses of enhlish fans there. Day 5 was pathetic attendance!

Brisbane - full capacity for 5 days is 210000 and the total number of people who came were 137000, less than 2/3 of full capacity for a series like Ashes thats been said to be the best series in cricket. I don't think its very good, you might feel different though.:giggle:
