In cricket, it's the one-day double-hundred: no man had ever produced 200 runs for his team during a one-day international match. In February, however, India's Sachin Tendulkar, the greatest run scorer of all-time, hit the magic milestone against a powerful South African squad. Tendulkar smacked three "sixes" — the cricket equivalent of a home run — during his epic performance, and the build up to 200 was exhilarating. When he reached 199, the home crowd in Gwalior waved Indian flags, and roared, knowing they were about to witness history. The diminutive Tendulkar, dubbed "The Little Master," slapped a single past the South African fielders. The world's 1.5 billion cricket fans had a moment they'd never forget. Tendulkar removed his helmet, and raised his arms toward the sky. "Take a bow, master," said television commentator Ravi Shastri, himself a former cricket star for India. "Aw, you little champion," his partner, former New Zealand cricketeer Danny Morrison chimed in. "If there was ever one deserving to break this milestone, this Everest, it is certainly Sachin Tendulkar."

The American description of a 'Six' as being the Cricket's equivalent of a Home-run, is probably the worst cricketing analogy ever. I hope these guys realize that there have been cricket matches where upwards of 20 sixes have been scored. :headshake:

I am no baseball junkie either, but I do know this. Most baseball games have scores 10-8 or 12-7 or whatever. This is what the teams manage to score spread over 10 innings. Just getting a SINGLE run in baseball is a big deal. A home run is a like a BIG EFFIN deal. People go crazy over home runs. In cricket, a six isn’t normally a game changer (of course, I am not talking about crunch last-over situations..). It is much like a four, only more. People* don’t go mental when somebody hits a six. * - Pakistanis are an exception. They pretty much go mental for anything PHAASHT and BEAAASHT.

It doesn’t work that way. I told you right, when the total score of a baseball game is around 12-10 or 14-12, you can imagine how important a single shot that gives an entire run, all by itself is. You cannot equate the two at all. Its like trying to equate a 2 ptr in basketball to a goal scored in football.

Obvious , I would say Sachin'200 is one of the TOP20 moments of Cricket History.
