In my opinion contracted players shouldn't be allowed to play IPL - maybe their contract pay package can be raised a bit to compensate for this. This way we have the first line players fresh, fit and available as far as possible. Also Indian team's cricket calendar can be organized in a timely manner without having to cut corners by skipping practice games on important tours or scheduling games too close to each other without sufficient downtime. It'll also allow the players to choose their priorities - either represent the country or be a IPL nautanki player.
