It was an away game in West Indies against the very strong WI team of the 1970s. India scored 406 in 147 overs.
gaurav92 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 But none of the teams had to chasing a mountain of 340 on the final day Windies had about 50 runs to chase SAF had about 187 runs to chase Indians had about 280 runs to chase and not 300+ which is why this is difficult.
Jersey #10 Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 ^ I agree. Here is the highest chase of the 4th inning on the 5th day. Aus vs Eng in Eng http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/62688.html Australia chased down 404/3 on the final day in 1948. It must have been quite epic. The chase was lead by none other than Sir Don Bradman accompanied by Robert Morris.
Jersey #10 Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63376.html WI vs Eng in Eng - 1984. WI scored 344/1 on the final day in roughly 66 overs to win it. One heck of a chase
