Re: India v Pakistan 1992 Classic World Cup Match kapil was like that only much more talented than his records suggest as a batsman........ those were days of radio ommentary and bunking class to gather nearby bettle-stall used to be in vogue, while paazi used to bat "kapil drives" was the common commentary phrase every ball, he very rarely used to defend......sehwagesque strike rate in those days tells it all

From what i have read and seen Kapil was a far more talented batsman than Imran and by simply looking at his batting average most fans will never realize how good a batsman Kapil really was.

It wasn't too uncommon to see Pakistani players sitting in the Indian dressing room (or vice versa) ans just having a chat on the past two series between the teams.

Re: India v Pakistan 1992 Classic World Cup Match That four sixes of four balls to avoid the follow on is a one off too. That must be the highlight of 80s. If an Aussie had done it, the moment would have been framed and sold 1000 exclusive copies signed by Kapil Dev. Alas Indian cricket wasn't that market savvy then.

Re: India v Pakistan 1992 Classic World Cup Match Yeah amen to that. The Indian cricket board, the commentators don't really hype up the past Indian players. They only hype the current players and once the current players retire retire there will be none worrying about them.
