satyam1729 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 There was a time where Tendulkar was his bunny as well (even Tendulkar has admitted this), sadly injury and laziness has meant his bowling has lost that zip he used to have. Do you know the meaning of bunny ? :hysterical:
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Do you know the meaning of bunny ? :hysterical: If you knew your beloved Tendulkar so well, you'd know that around the year 1999 may be before may be after, not sure, but there were a sequence of games where Razzaq kept getting Tendulkar. I think Tendulkar said Razzaq got some zip off the surface and often the ball felt like it sped up after landing. If someone gets Tendulkar out in a sequence of games, then he's a decent bowler, but sadly Razzaq has lost all that zip he once had.

Sachin=GOD Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I don't read into much about what Indian or Pakistani fans say (I am Pakistani) because both sets are extremely biased and stupid. There are Pakistani fans who hail Afridi as a legend. There are Indian fans who put down Bradman's efforts to make Tendulkar look better than him. Bottomline is that Pakistan are a side who historically swing between very very poor tournaments and very good tournaments, they've not had 2 good WCs, they may do well this time around. India are a very strong ODI side, everyone fancies their bowling and if we are honest, they do often punch above their weight whereas Pakistan's attack is often over rated. I fancy a Pakistan India final, simply because both teams had a shocker last time around and they're due a good tournament. Pakistani "fans" may be stupid and biased but Indian supporters most certainly are not :winky: Bottomline is - Pakistan this time around are simply not good enough to make it to even the semis.
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Pakistani "fans" may be stupid and biased but Indian supporters most certainly are not :winky: Bottomline is - Pakistan this time around are simply not good enough to make it to even the semis. Actually I disagree, I think the fans are equally stupid. I'll give you an example of stupidity from both sets of fans. 1. Pakistani fans claiming Yousuf is a modern day genius. 2. Indian fans claiming Zaheer Khan is a great, when he averages over 30. In fact come to think of it, most sports fans are biased and stupid. As for Pakistan not being good enough to make the semis, they weren't good enough to get to the Semis in 1992 and they won it. Being good enough or not doesn't matter, performance matters. Like people have said many times. Being a paper champion team means nothing, you have to go out there on the field and perform.

He averages 52, sure he did but he didn't score all those 52 runs off Razzaq's bowling.

So, having an average of less than 30 is the only criteria for greatness in bowling??
satyam1729 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 You're one silly poster it seems. 6 times Razzaq dismissed Tendulkar in ODIs around that time. He averages 52' date= sure he did but he didn't score all those 52 runs off Razzaq's bowling. :haha::haha: In 25 matches. Do you know the meaning of bunny ?:hehe:
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 The point I'm making is Razzaq was once a decent bowler with a bit of zip, with the ability to get out the top players regularly. He dismissed Lara in the WC with an incredibly outswing as well I remember. However all that has gone and so Pakistan rely on his not going for too many and then to strengthen the lower order with his heavy hitting.
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 So' date=' having an average of less than 30 is the only criteria for greatness in bowling??[/quote'] Well I doubt you can call very many bowlers who averaged over 30 a great. In my opinion a bowler who averages over 30 in Test cricket is pathetic.
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 :haha::haha: In 25 matches. Do you know the meaning of bunny ?:hehe: I stand corrected on one front it was 4 times in quick succession, the other 2 were in 2006. So 4 times in the space of a few games is a pretty good return.

king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I often don't like coming on these online forums, people are so biased in their thinking they never actually produce any meaningful discussions. On Indian forums it's all Sachin this, Sachin that, anything but praise of Sachin is condenmed. On Pak forums it's all Afridi Afridi or Boom Boom etc. The moment anyone says anything bad about either teams or countries, the members go into this wild moodswing.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Well I doubt you can call very many bowlers who averaged over 30 a great. In my opinion a bowler who averages over 30 in Test cricket is pathetic. Zaheer was'nt an outstanding bowler at the start of his career but for the last few years his bowling in Test matches has been quite spectacular. As for pathetic, well, over 150 wickets in the last 5 years is not bad for a "pathetic" bowler :hmmm:
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 And Inzamam was also the bunny of sachin considering he was dismissed 7 times by sachin. So sachin is a great leg spinner. You've totally missed the point I made and further emphasised the point I made in the last comment, about Indo Pak fans being ultra sensitive and stupid.

As for pathetic' date=' well, over 150 wickets in the last 5 years is not bad for a "pathetic" bowler :hmmm:[/quote'] He has improved a lot, but he's not improved into a great bowler or even a good bowler like some fans claim. To think that the likes of Zaheer and Mohammed Yousuf are called greats by modern fans, it's an insult to true greats of the game. The amount of wickets Indian or English bowlers takes is always going to be much higher than other nations, as India and England are currently and will do for a long time, play more Test cricket. Zaheer has improved I agree entirely.

People need to respect that people don't always have the same opinion as others, I don't see why people get so defensive.. Why not disagree but have a meaningful conversation rather then just laughing and questioning the other members knowledge of the game. king2be you seem like a good poster to me. I think this WC India will go far but Pak wont make it any further then the semi's.

If you look at Zaheer Khan's whole career he will not be categorized as great but over the last few years he's been among the best in the world.
king2be98 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 king2be you seem like a good poster to me. I think this WC India will go far but Pak wont make it any further then the semi's. I actually think Pakistan will get quite far this time because they're not that hyped up. The Indians are being hyped up but that has worked against them in the past. I think the one area where India are stronger than other teams at the moment is the number of aggressive batsmen they posess. But a lot of other teams are catching up. By pushing up Johnson, Australia's line up was lengthened. By pushing up Akmal, Pakistan's line up is lengthened. So on that front others catching up with India. As for the bowling, I think all bowling attacks have weak links, Pakistan's 3rd seamer looks a major problem. I think India always plays a bowler short and their 4th bowler is weak. Australia's quicks leak a lot of runs but take plenty of wickets. They don't have any worthy slow bowlers. SA has a good attack for all coniditions, and their slow bowlers aren't as bad as they were, but they always fail tp produce in big games. Pakistan or Sri Lanka vs SA in a knockout match, they will come short, they always do.

If you look at Zaheer Khan's whole career he will not be categorized as great but over the last few years he's been among the best in the world. Well a bowler playing 50 tests is farm more likely to get 150 wickets than someone playing 20, even you would agree. I think it's very difficult for NZ or Pak bowlers to get 150 wickets in that period.
