World Cup format

I personaly thinks its sucks There are 42 games. But only 12 games involving top 8 teams. All top 8 teams were assured that they will make it to the next round so they can take it easy in the group stage. Hence after a month we got 12 games of suspect quality. I like the '92 format where each team had to play 8 games and only top 4 were assured a spot in the next round. This gives ample oppurtunity for good teams to emerge and every game is a quality game becasue its has an impact on your progress. Cricket is the only sport where small number of teams can allow such format to go along. Inviting minnows has been very bland for the tornament so far. I would love to see '92 format again where game after game is real contest, with something on the line. Let me know wat you guys think? And what should be the format for the next world cup. Dont worry dude. Next worldcup has round robin format which is exactly the same as 92. Asian suck at everything. I suggest that only Aussies and English should be allowed to host worlcup.e They are the only one who will put cricket ahead of money. There are only 7 meaningful, exciting and intense matches. BCCI, PCB, Lanka board, all suck, BAN THEM

Personally I think this world cup was the best. I repeat the best, not one team dominant and clearly the most balanced world cup I have seen. This is because of teams and particular the minnow teams who add in the unknown flavor. If anything, it was only the bad schedule which made the world cup sometimes, they should have played 2 matches a day far more often. Lastly, clearly minnow teams are absolutely needed.

So why are even having the world cup with such meaningless matches. A bit similar to Olympics isn't. You cannot suppose India's inclusion in Olympics and then criticize other team playing cricket?

From my online gaming experience, I like this concept for Knockout games involving many top quality players.
