King Tendulkar
Ganguly is one lucky sod to still be in team! Clearly has connections in the right places Link to comment
DesiChap
Based on the last test Based on the last test series he clearly deseves to be in the team. Tendu is the lucky one iin the team based on reputation Link to comment
Holysmoke
Yes, ganguly does not Yes, ganguly does not deserve to be in the team. Both yuvraj and laxman should be there ahead of him. His past reputation of scoring big against Bangla mustve helped. Link to comment
DesiChap
Holysmoke...Gangs was the Holysmoke...Gangs was the top scorer in SA..pretty rough on him if he were dropped now...anyways Laxy is always the fav whipping boy :( Link to comment
Holysmoke
Sachin was the second top Sachin was the second top scorer in SA :headache: Ganguly was never much of a test player. Never. Sachin was. Link to comment

Sachin was. Exactly. Gangs had one ok tour of SA and suddenly has become undroppable. Laxman and Sachin have delivered over number of years. Also Yuvraj is the young gun with bags of potential. Yet is kept out by OAP gangs. This would have been perfect for yuvi to score runs and really kick start his test career. Its all about connections for gangs Link to comment
Rohan495
wow Laxman is dropped. cant wow Laxman is dropped. cant believe that. First he was the VC of the team and now he finds himself out of the team Link to comment
Raj
Not surprised to see him Not surprised to see him dropped, but he should have been picked ahead of Kartick or Dhoni. Link to comment
King
They could have done away They could have done away with one of the keepers. To say VVS is less valuable than Karthik or Dhoni is a joke indeed. 5 bowlers against Bangladesh :( I have no problem with Ganguly as long as he maintains his form. He had a decent Saffie tour, then had a good home ODI series against WI & SL and he had way better world cup than say Tendulkar or Dravid. Ganguly batted really well today, good aggression and his strokes against the spinners are still intact. :salute: Link to comment

Anakin
Exactly Ravi. As I said Exactly Ravi. As I said before, 2 keepers is a bad idea when yuvi/vvs sits out. Karthik should be the first choice keeper in test matches. Link to comment
yoda
It is time for all of them It is time for all of them to go. I want VVS, Ganguly and SRT kicked out. Bring in Badri, Rao, Gambhir and I bet we will choke less when the match is on the line in the 4th innings against better teams. Link to comment
Rahul
first off, KKD has been first off, KKD has been selected as a batsman who can also open, not as a keeper. (the big picture here is to see if he can partner jaffa in england as well. he did quite well openig in SA, didn't he??) BTW, he opened for his domestic team as well. VVSL has categorically told the selectors he doesnt want to be considered for opening, after his failed expts during the azza regime. second, there is a definite need for five bowlers in the sapping heat/humidity of chittagong. the fact that the bowlers picked aren't that good is beside the point. third, given this batting line-up against this pop-gun "attack," having a seventh batter is superfluous. all considered, VVSL had to sit this one out. tough luck. kumble_rocks
Laxman was instrumental in Laxman was instrumental in winning the only test in SA and yet he gets dropped. Same shi.t happened to him after the Pak series when he was dropped for the home series against England for most of the tests. The team manger Shastri has gone on record during the SA series saying that a match winner like Laxman should not be messed around. Then why is he dropped now. Goes to show you need a godfather in this fackin Indian team. Link to comment
Anakin
Again baseless rants, but Again baseless rants, but what's new? SRT was crucial in that win as well besides being the 2nd highest run getter and SCG was the highest run getter in the whole series for Ind. But why not talk about mafia, that's the cool trend right now anyways. I don't agree with Laxman's dropping, but hate that kind of thinking. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Sachin is a cricketing god Sachin is a cricketing god with 35 test tons. Gangs has a pretty poor 12 test tons. Gangs must have people in right places to be in team still. SA tour he did ok but over last 2 to 5 years he has been poor Link to comment

If we dont start grooming youngster now we are gonna be screwed. Laxman has had a shocking deal, shows its all about power and influence, very sad Link to comment
kumble_rocks
Did you even watch that SA Did you even watch that SA series. I watched the whole series and stats can be misleading. Sachin never scored in the second innings all the three test matches when it mattered the most. On form , laxman cannot be dropped over ganguly or sachin. Link to comment
