Kallis played a stupid shot IMO. He was the guy who is supposed to stay till the end. Also Devilliers' runout was a huge blow. Amla was unfortunate to get out but he didnt look in great touch throughout the tournament. I never had too many expectations from others.

Amla, ABDV have definitely been in top 5 ODI batsmen of world in last one year or so. Add Kallis and Smith to mix who are proven and experienced players. Then they have Duminy as well. How much more batting depth you need after 5 champion batsmen. Have you had a look at Pak batting line up? I can't even name 5 of their batsman without looking at scorecard of their last match. Look at England's or SL (they don't have anything after top 4) batting line up. They definitely look inferior to SA's. It's just about handling pressure.

Saying 5 can compensate for depth is like gambling and won't work. The trick is to fill as many matchwinners and the best quality of players as possible. they all have their weaknesses and they have suffered defeats as well. its now a question of who will hide their weaknesses without going into defeat. SA's fault was they created a wekaness by their own decision. that's what i am faulting at. and there are cricketing reasons why they lose. to attribute it all to pressure would be faulty . the real cricketing reasons would be missed. handling pressure is only coming up with your best. what if your best is not good enough? their best will never have been good enough because there are better teams 1, australia for the past 3 WC. 2. india for this WC. they were never the real favourites.at best the 2nd favourites. The point is as a player if you think about handling pressure, its good. becuase the player has to come up with his best. but it does not give anyone super human powers . an an analyst, to harp too much about pressure is bad. It will only kill our analysis.
