Cricket Tragic Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Won't write NZ off completely but it would be a massive upset if they win.

Cricket Tragic Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Biggen then their QF victory over fav SA? Yes, much bigger. I always felt that they had a chance against SA due to SA's record in knockouts. SL play much better in big games and will be playing at home. NZ's performance vs SL in the league stage was dire.
bettingly Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 One thing I hate about New Zealand batting is they seem to be in T20 mode all the time. Because they spend 30 overs in dot balls!
SriLankanLion Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 If this "used pitch" news is true' date=' shame on SLC and they deserve to lose.[/quote'] There's no rule such that a fresh pitch must be used. " An ICC source said the choice of the exact pitch remains with the venue, as long as it complies with the ICC's guidelines for fair pitches. The choice, the source said, was between the pitch used for the Australia-Pakistan game and the one used for the quarter-final. The first one had more inconsistent bounce, hence this pitch was chosen. " So revise your attitudes please!
pinkfreud Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 @ SriLankanLion But aren't fresh pitches a given in the KO stages of any cricket WC? I am all for home advantage, but surely there could have been some other pitch that could have been used for today's match?
gaurav92 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Used or unused wicket, Sri Lanka are so winning this. I doubt in NZ team, they just got one win against Cheaters, and one against Chokers, and therefore all their wins were against mediocre opponents. Its easy peasy for the Lankans :nice:
Roshanrocks Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Vettori this is not YOUR home ground..... So expect to be stunned, gunned and obliterated :hehe:
NareshK Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Sri Lanka is going to win this easily but it will be the biggest upset of this tournament if New Zealand can pull off a win. I honestly dont see it happening.
Square Drive Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Too negative comment by a captain before a KO match.
HyroProto Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 there was nothing wrong with the pitch..it was a brillient pitch..the way tharanga got his 30 showed what can be done if u r in form... it was just the inability & the lack of form of NZ & SL's middle order..nothing to do with the pitch
Tigerbait Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Cheap unsportsmanlike move on SLs part? Sure. But I have no sympathy for NZ who make Asian teams play on green pastures for pitches anytime we visit. Karma is truly a leveler as they say.
