you lost your job for this ??!!..
Seriously -- what kind of a fecking company does he work for -- where they they do not even respect the employees emotions and sentiments attached to their sporting teams? I joined my present company in January. And I am a HUGEEEEE -- no let me re-iterate --- a friggin HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE Green Bay Packers Fan. And everybody who follows American Football knows they won the Super Bowl this year -- a very very sweet victory indeed. The Sunday they won, I texted my boss -- I was going to Green Bay to attend the victory Parade. He did not respond anything and he came late on Monday at 2:00 PM and then he said 'Yes I could leave'. I booked my flights/hotel immediately and left Monday afternoon for Lambeau. Attended the parade (and believe me folks -- it was out of this world). GB Fans are the best. Bloody hell at 0 degree F with your ***** literally rock solid like an ice block -- man if was a moment to cherish. Came back and asked my manager -- what forms do I fill out for me to apply for the vacation I took? His answer -- "Don't worry -- it is on the house". I love my boss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have been following cricket from 1979-from my 7th standard. but for the last 2 matches, when india was batting, i went away from TV becuse i was sentimental that India may lose wickets when i see. i am a mad sach fan.so, almost always change channel when he is in 90's( even recent 100's Vs England and SA). i came back nervously to watch the match only when the innings against pak towards the end, the first ball i watched, harbhajan was stumped. i went off. then my friend called up and informed 260-9, i was thrilled. even for the final i have told my friends that i dont mind watching recorded or high lights for the next 4 years, if we win the cup.i would stay away when we bat and would be delighted if we win the cup.

I agree -- but I will tell you what, my company definitely would have agreed for me to work from home those 6 - 7 weeks if I wanted to do so. Of course match days I would be taking a vacation Quite possibly even a non-paid vacation. I doubt if my company would have let me go, unless there was something very important going on at work place. So Sachinism attended even the League Games?

You are either very lucky or are in an exceptional situation where you can call the shots. With economy the way it is, unemployment super high and most industry failing, people have been fired for lot less than taking holiday to watch Green Bay Packers. By the way I dont mean to be a Debbie downer but anyone who can risk his career like this was either born with a silver spoon or has messed up priorities in life. xxx
