Serani Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 + I get a bit tired of 'we need to spread cricket to countries xyz' cries. All these people try to 'spread' cricket thinking that the countries will someday play with the regular teams but of course ignoring the simple fact that countries dont play cricket, people do. And so I rant back to the whole nation based cricket thing again. :wall: :wall: The thing is cricket is being "spread" if we look at Bangladesh, Ireland and Afghanistan recently making big strides in the game, i just feel when people think of cricket being spread they think of the USA and China and im not sure what the obsession is.

I think the obsession is just a grandiose fantasy of imagining pretty much every country playing test cricket and cricket being a 'leading' game in the world. Its a bit like a delusional cheer for their team on to do amazing things only in this case its their sport.
Cricket Tragic Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Countries like WI and Pakistan are in ****. Bangladesh also hasn't done enough in tests. I have no issues with spreading the game but there are more important things to sort out first.
