"will" :winky: So for now, 8 failed.
Exactly, I would have hard time using it on my laptop. It's almost like saying phuck you if you don't have a touch screen. p.s. no wonder Microsoft disabled the comments section in the video. :P

What about CRT monitor machines?
Kill the mouse does not necessarily mean it will be all touch screen. Multi-touch trackpads probably will replace the mouse as an input device. Apple launched the firsr multi-touch trackpad a few days ago. We have used trackpads before with digital pens (pen mouse), but now it will be the multi-touch trackpads. There are several things a mouse can not do anymore because of the obvious limitations. The Apple OS is already multi-touch driven, windows is becoming so now. The mouse will be soon dead.

You gotta make something innovating with current system configuration in the market. You can't make something 'so cool' and go like, our product is really awesome if you've this and those things in your machine. Come on, nobody is gonna buy something else to use 'your' product (which, ofcourse, is also a commercial product).

And that's exactly my point.

But yes, 8 is made by targeting the future. Because they have that basic windows management so that current machines can use it. And they've included that touch screen thingy by keeping an eye on future systems. It's all good for the future of computers, there's no doubt about it. So I welcome 8.

My laptop has multi-touch function on my touchpad. Though I think its very limited and I disabled it after a few days, as it was doing stuff I did not intend to do. I guess i will give it one more shot, keeping future in mind. :nervous:
