Cricket Tragic Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I wonder how much of an impact the practice game will have on the selection for the number 6 slot.
Fontaine Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I like Bhajji but the series in England is going to be huge for him...If he fails..:(( This doesn't make any sense. The West Indies Test series is the real indication. Tracks with bounce/spin against an average batting side low in confidence. If Bhajji can't take wickets here then what the hell do people expect him to do against a much better batting line up full of runs in England where there isn't any spin until the 5th day if any?

How did he take bunch of wickets in SA ? Tracks with bounce against as good a batting side as English. And in NZ ? Where he did better than Kumble ever could.
Show_stopper Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Guys I just checked Uv's batting record in away series and it really was an eye opener. The guy averages 18 outside Asia. improves marginally to 19 if we include SL and jumps to 29 if we include pakistan. Also he averages 17 and 18 against WI and Zim respectively. There really can't be an excuse for the last part. Infact the WI attack during our 2006 tour was one of the most benign...Collymore,Bradhsaw and someother clown. If yo can't score against them you're not scoring in tests. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/36084.html?class=1;filter=advanced;host=2;host=4;host=5;host=7;host=8;host=9;orderby=default;template=results;type=allround

Hindustani Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 UV will be replacing whom ? Raina ? it is difficult to see him in the final 11 with Raina in, probably will have to rotate them
