Sehwag1830 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 or 2-1. New ICC rankings. http://icc-cricket.yahoo.net/match_zone/test_predictor.php
saneindian Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Isn't the cycle used for these rankings August to August for the last 3 years? I could be wrong but I do remember India gaining a few points just before the test series in Sri Lanka last year when the new cycle started.

We should thank BCCI for preparing roads against NZ and sending second-string side to WI for England getting close to India. :hysteric:

We should thank BCCI for preparing roads against NZ and sending second-string side to WI for England getting close to India. :hysteric: How's that a problem? The equation is simple, we need to win the series to retain our number 1 rank. Now expecting that from our team isn't a long shot. Yes it will require a great effort, but we are fully capable of doing this.

Problem is we could have easily touched 130 if we didn't prepare flat wickets and send a second-string side to WI.
ShebbySB Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Don't worry guys we'll beat the Poms convincingly(2-0).We'll stay at no.1 for atleast next 5 years.Cheers:tee:
gult Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 This fact makes the series much more interesting :yay:
Sehwag1830 Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 Weren't we sitting on 126 points after the WI series. It shows 125 here. 3 years period have been reached.
Pagalpanti Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Cycle has been done. We should thank BCCI for preparing roads against NZ and sending second-string side to WI for England getting close to India. :hysteric: If we want to be no.1 for a long time we shouldn't worry about that, we have to win every series or at least try to. This is a defensive thinking.
Sehwag1830 Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 There is a bias in ICC rankings. They have kept this series for India http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/series/343728.html And have removed this series for England. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/series/296893.html Both series occurred at the same time.Keep both or remove both. This is pathetic and racist stuff from ICC.They should be ashamed of themselves. Why don't they hand no.1 rankings to England on a platter ?
Sehwag1830 Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 Pardon my ignorance. What is the 3 year period and what is the cycle? A series only counts if played in the last three years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICC_Test_Championship
Blue Panther Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 doesn't matter as long as our team fights hard. i am not bothered abt the rankings.
cricketman Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 This fact makes the series much more interesting :yay: Agreed. True test to see if we are up to the challenge of maintaining the #1 rank.
kabira Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 well we had similar thing happening vs/ SA. They would have tied IIRC had we lost the series. But we came out undefeated in the series. Gut feeling says this could be very close series decided on some luck with cloud cover. I would think 2-1 to India would be the result.
Sid Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Chill out,We will not lose a series till Kaptaan Kool is there :beach:
